Ah, forgot about that room, thanks.

Thanks for this gorgious mission !
This one is very well done and I appreciated all parts of it.
While there are some complicated parts, the texts typically tell you all you need to know.
I just finished on Expert with 2730/3000 loot, 3/4 secrets & 4/6 Bonus objectives, but 0/3 Optional objectives.
Some constructive criticism:
- the number-pad machine to open the gates was really confusing. When I punshed in the first correct combination I noticed the sparks being emitted. Looking closer at it, I was under the impression that the wires are cut and assumed that this mechanism is totally out of order and I need to find another way. The fact the the switch to be operated afterwards is located one floor below, made it even more confusing, since you would not guess that both operate in conjunction.
- the voice-acting in the Intro is *terrible*! Please avoid 'pretending to be someone else'. A natural voice always sounds better. ;)
- the Pressing machine should have been constructed in such way, that it would reject the wrong material (copper)
- There a couple of 'Secret passages' that you can not take as a player. That is were Karras is running around. This is very confusing. Also there is one in the Start-area, which does not even seem to be used. It took me ages to accept, that I can not take any of these passages. Such passages should not be visible. But maybe you had plans for them in the past, but you had to seal them ?
Some questions regarding the objectives:
- can both bonus objectives related to the heretic letter be completed in one game?
- any hints on these optional objectives figments of greed, hidden vault compartment please ?
Is there a loot-list availlable by chance ? :D
Oh, and where might be the 4.th secret ? (#1-3 : #1: D-offices, #2: crypt, #3: Mechanists area)

Try to enter the code again, then frob the control panel on the floor.
There may be an alternate way of getting into that room.Sk will be along shortly, and he may have an alternate plan for you. I would hate for you not to be able to finish this wonderful mission !

Hmm... I would suggest turning the control switch off, re-entering the numbers, and then trying again. I've not encountered any bug of it failing to open the door, but if it absolutely does not work, try the other door on the south western end of warehouse beta.

Yes, this is a regret of my inability to create new objects, or I would have had a leading wire from the junction box down to the control panel. Unfortunately, I couldn't do that, so I hoped that the slight logical inconsistency of it would be overcome by the player thinking, "wait, so I went through all that effort to enter a code that does nothing? There must be some way to make it work..."

Haha, thanks for the honesty. It probably doesn't help that all I have to record with is a crummy headset mic, so that compounds how 'bad' it sounds. Next time, I'll try to rely more on other voice actors.

Probably could have been done differently so that it would, yeah. Good call.

One of those secret passages comes into play in a different ending. The others aren't really "secret passages" per se. The Figment of Mistrust is supposed to be able to walk through walls. You know, like it's incorporeal. Unfortunately, I can't fully disguise the fact that there are doors there. It's not meant to tease the player; it's meant to show that the figments are incorporeal
because, as the names imply, they are all in Garrett's head.Quote Posted by gnartsch
Some questions regarding the objectives:
- can both bonus objectives related to the
heretic letter be completed in one game?
Nope. That was done for replayability purposes.

- any hints on these optional objectives
figments of greed, hidden vault compartment please ?
The Figment of Greed
is the Trickster figment. I'm sure that you've seen him wandering around. The Trickster represents Garrett's greed because, in Thief 1, Garrett allowed himself to be blinded and weakened by the greed of Constantine's offer of wealth. In contrast, Karras is Garrett's mistrust because, in spite of his work with Viktoria, Garrett couldn't bring himself to trust someone else's abrupt plan and trust that they could know what they are doing, and he lost an ally as a result.
As for the hidden compartment,
it is opened the same as the bay doors. There is a hint to how to find the 4-digit code in a letter by Novice Wilhelm.Quote Posted by gnartsch

Not yet. I'll be working on that after the mission has been out for a week or two.

It's in the
Mechanist Temple.

I can open the other door by frobbing the switch in the hole in the floor. Frobbed switch to off, reentered code, frob switch, light comes on no open door 2873.
uhai on 11/9/2011 at 14:38
that should be 2813
scarykitties on 11/9/2011 at 15:06
Try the southern door. The one with code 3709.
Inline Image:
http://i53.tinypic.com/ddc57c.gifAnd you don't frob the control panel that's in the hole in the floor. You frob the one sitting on the ground at where the arrow in the map points to "bay door controls." It is on the ground, near the base of that vine that breaks through the walkway.

Thanks for your hints and the explanations. :thumb:
With that I have finished every objective that is possible except for 1: I am still looking for the last 75g loot.
I hope it is not in the water-pipe that are flooded and inaccessible by now ... and I have been running around through all other places quite a couple of times.
Anyway, I really enjoyed this mission very much !
