Thief IV is being developed by (
http://eidosmontreal.com/en/team.html) Eidos Montreal. Is there any chance we'd see some of our old favourites from LGS/ISA joining the team, or is Eidos Montreal pretty much a set studio already, leaving little room for changes on the team? I'm also curious to know what else they have done worth noting, and if this studio comes off as a good choice to carry the torch of
Thief. It's common knowledge that fans of a series usually prefer it if sequels are developed together with key figures from earlier installments, and while I am not nearly as distraught by this as I was when I followed the development of Bethesda's
Fallout 3, it's still something you think about. Looking at the above linked website, all I can really make out is the producer for
Thief IV - Mario Aguera - but that name tells me very little, and the bio left me with very few impressions.
So, is there anyone who has any further sources on names of people who will be working on this title, as well as any noteable accomplishments or creations from their past? Even though the game has hardly entered production, it's still valid topic of conversation, if you ask me.

The most we have is (

Speaking of the team that you've got, do you have any of the old Looking Glass Studios staff on board?
Well, no, but we've done our homework. We went through this a couple of years ago when we launched the Deus Ex 3 project, so we're pretty much in constant contact with a couple of people. These people are mainly based in Texas and they have their own lives and their own projects, and for now we've built our team with veterans that have worked on numerous triple-A titles. We have people that have worked on the Rainbow Six series, on Prince of Persia, on the Splinter Cell games - the list is very long and we'll soon release the pedigree of the team, and you'll notice that these guys have a lot of credentials. In terms of Looking Glass and Ion Storm, we're trying to be as close as possible to some of the original developers, but nothing's confirmed.
As for Mario Aguera:

Nothing specifically encouraging... but who knows. *shrug*

Oh no! They're already using that dreaded "C" word. . . . compromise. :weird:

Yes, indeed - voice actors will probably be hired in late in development, and it would really surprise me if they didn't ask Stephen Russell to lend them his great talent.
'Have done their homework' is not at all calming. The boys behind Fallout 3 had also 'done their homework,' but in the end the game turned out to be something so far from the originals you could hardly recognize the franchise any more.
Uh, nothing exciting, no. :/

It's a start. A rough one as far as we can tell, but not abysmal.

If we look at the studio as whole - as we don't have names of specific developers yet - are there any note-worthy creations to speak of, that might be applicable when it comes to creating a game like Thief IV?

I can't speak for the games on the list, but any game they are intimately familiar with, or have worked on, which used light and shadow as a basis for sneaking, and blocked lines of sight second, they may be familiar enough to push it to the still radical and revolutionary level of Thief. I really want to know they will break with convention whenever possible.
