So...Diablo 3 is shit. The sequel to a game I loved for years. And Blizzard is acting like Bioware about it.
Gaming is dead. I need to drink a lot and find a new hobby. In that order.

Details please...
But yes, I reached that conclusion after Mass Effect 3. There simply aren't any games worth the time it takes to play them anymore, with the possible exception of the upcoming Dark Souls PC release.

More the reason to start playing games in your backlog (assuming you have some). That way you can split your time between old games you never had the time to try and the few good new games when they come out.

Depends on what you mean by that. If you mean that in the sense of games fun enough to keep you entertained that is always going to the case that there will be fun games. For that reason I will keep my computer stocked, its always good to have the games ready for when you end up as the duty officer and are required to spend your entire Saturday stuck in the office. Plus, I do live in an area where getting snowed in is a legitimate possibility. For those times gaming is also a pretty good way to pass the time.
If you are referring to games that are good enough to justify staying inside playing them when you could be getting out and doing something else, there just aren't many of those anymore. Thing is, I'm back in freaking Colorado. With the amount of shit to do here a game better be extremely freaking good if I'm gonna sit inside playing it, and I can't think of any current titles that are that good.

Wow, I'm so glad I'm passed the naive butthurt "gaming is dead where is my childhood??? oh the humanity :(:(" phase of being a gamer. As a fucking adult, who had some spare time to give to Diablo 3, I'm having a blast with it. Level 51 DH lots of fun. It requires an internet connection God thats annoying :(((( except it hasnt once stopped me from starting the game whenever the fuck I want and having a good time. The server side model works in that there is zero way to cheat. The auction house works well, I've already auctioned off items there. My only concern is once I hit 60, the only thing I'll really have to do then is keep grinding for gears. Hopefully when they add PVP they add another 20 levels or so...

Sad, innit.
In many ways Diablo 3 reminds me of the Boycott Modern Warfare 2 Steam Group.

You know, these guys?
Everyone bitched and moaned, moaned and bitched at UBI for their constant online DRM. And it indeed seemed like many people decided to not bother with their games because of the feature.
But then of course it turned out people simply didn't care much for their games in the first place, and as soon as something they were actually hyped up for(Diablo 3) showed up with exactly same bullshit, oh how easy it was to swallow your pride and bend over for Mr. Kotick. Sure, people will (
http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/diablo-iii) bitch and moan about it but when it comes to the only part that matters - voting with your wallet - their tiny weak necks snap like it's nanking '37.
Sheeple gonna meep.
