Just started and noticed you cant crouch on crates anymore. There is no landing sounds on them either, I know this breaks my first FM where you had to get a crate to get in a hole in the wall. Just tried it and FM is broken. You can jump on other objects, what changed with the crates? this crouch on ladders thing maybe?
Isn't it better to start a (highly visible, even sticked) thread called "Thief 1.19 bugs and feature requests" so that this stuff is not allover the forum?

I can still crouch on crates. I just checked it in my mission. I did relight the mission and did a complete processing. Maybe that's why I can? Try it on a crate further away from a wall. Maybe you are stuck in the wall? --- no. I just checked the unmodified released version, and I can crouch on crates just fine.
EDIT:
I take that back. I do have troubles with the stock crates. I didn't have anything but custom in my mission. Once I put in some stock crates, yeah, no crouching and no jumping when on top of them. That breaks a crate stacking but good. :(

Pre-fab doesn't work really well in the dark engine since they are just large rectangular boxes from a collision perspective. In other words, unlike in most RPGs, you can't walk into a pre-fab house in the dark engine since it is treated as just a giant solid box. As a result, I don't think sloped pre-fab roofs can be jumped on without looking like you in mid-air.
However, for background visuals, they work great as a cheaper alternative lots of smaller solid brushes like for boots, inaccessible city sections, etc.
PS Has anybody tried out Cardia's city missions with this. Those missions tended to break the engine in certain areas.

Don't forget pillars. Those can chop the hell out of rooms. For small/medium ones (especially with square caps), the player would never notice a rectangular bounding box on object pillars.

You can rotate the model 45°, and then rotate the object 45° the other way, to give the bounding box a slope.

The right way to do this is have a visual object with no physics model and use blocking objects to build the walls &c.
Unless whoever is hacking on this wants to finish the work on BSP phystype .... 1.20 perhaps?

I have also found that crouching on crates is now impossible with the new mantling code enabled.
I had to turn off the new mantling code to restore crouching on crates.

How did you disable it ?? I thought it was disabled by default because it is commented out in cam_ext.cfg. Did you un-comment it?

Just fired up MM3 in new dark and went to the rooftops. No complexity errors!
