and i just finished a new 256x256 texture set for my mission. guess i can redo it without compression. whats the playability like on various pcs? mine is actually a little older, and dromed always revs my fans up.

Just did a clean install of T2 and unzipped the patch and tried dromed, but it freezes up-any hints on what's going wrong?
Not a clue. Nothing was written to monolog? There's also this new log that I've seen is getting written, DromEd.log. Why don't you post those logs and anything else that looks diagnostic.

has anyone imported a multibrush from 1.18 yet or opened a 1.18 .mis file in 1.19? just want to know what kind of issues i'll have.

Importing a multibrush from 1.18 to 1.19 works like a charm. I've been playing around with this feature for two days and haven't encountered any oddities.
Same for loading 1.18-missions into 1.19-DromEd.
According to the readme, loading a 1.19-mission into 1.18-DromEd is likely to cause trouble. I didn't check what happens when you do this with 1.19-multibrushs.

I just thought about something with dromed 1.19 : would it be possible to add ingame menus in thief 2 now ? Like the ones in system shock 2, you know the inventory, PDAs & stuff.
I remember someone tried it years ago (Zylonbane maybe) but it was close to impossible. Would this new version allow it now ?
I don't have much time to try it out, I mostly focus on my halloween mission. But once I'm done with it, I'll mess around with this new dromed.

I haven't imported any multibrushes, as we don't see eye to eye, me and them. But I have opened both my Shadowed Mayfield and Xavier's Library missions in it. The only 'problem' I had was that some of my stuff was using ddfix overrides and, all I needed to do was remove the placeholder .gif, replace it with the actual .dds.

Before you installed Dromed 1.19, had you extracted the original Dromed from the zip file?
After trying out the patch I wanted it in a clean install so I wouldn't have old config files from older things like ddfix. Here's what I did:
Installed Thief 2 to a new folder (c:\games\Thief2_119)
Extracted all of the files from Dromed.zip (from one of the T2 CDs, allowing it to overwrite everything)
Installed the Thief 2 1.1
8 patch (remember this updates mis files and other resources too)
Installed Dromed v1.1
8 (which was unnecessary because the new patch overwrites it, but never mind)
That's the default installation - no mods or unofficial patches.
edit: Next step: Installed the Dromed Toolkit (menus.cfg and .cmd files)
Then I extracted the contents of the new package, in this order:
new_dark.zip
contrib.zip
editor.zip
Because you have zips within a zip, make sure you extracted the
contents of them, rather than the zip files themselves.

I may have to correct my former statement: there seem to be some problems when loading existing missions.
I loaded a 1.18 mission into the 1.19 DromEd and noticed that some objects, rooms, and terrain brushes do not show up in the editor windows.
When I click at their location, I am able to select them and they get highlighted as usual. When I click somewhere else, they "disappear" from the editor windows.
I double-checked that all filters and "Me only"-areas are off. Then, I turned all filters on and off again but they remain hidden. Reloading the mission does not fix the problem.
There is no output on the monolog-console, no warning, nothing.
I opened the same mission in 1.18-DromEd and all objects, brushes, etc. were visible in the editor windows.
That's weird...

Did you try a complete processing in either 16 bit or 32-bit rendering? I had a bunch of stuff missing until I did that and fixed my darkinst, cfg to correctly point at my custom objects and textures.
