In what different guises were the Thief games released? Were there any "collector's" or "limited" editions? Also, I am under the impression that the games (TDP, Gold and TMA) were originally released in a pyramid shaped box. Is this true? I have also seen a version of TDP in a normal, non-pyramid box on Ebay in the UK. is there any version which is better than the others? Any help would be appreciated.

I've yet to come across any pyramid-shaped boxes myself. Maybe they weren't released in the UK, in those boxes?
I've got Thief Gold (Premier version) Plain square-boxed Thief 2 and Dark Project, minus it's box, (Just in it's CD case), so I'm not sure what that version is.
Oh, I also had a cheapo version of Thief 2, but I forget what that was released under. (Came in a DVD case like lots of other games that are selling for £5.00) Ahh, it was the "Sold Out" label.

Yes, I had the Sold Out version of TMA. The packaging didn't really compliment the game.

It didn't, no. I just brought that version as a backup.

It wasn't a pyramid shaped box- it was trapezoidal. My pre-ordered copy of Thief 2 came in a trapezoid box. Maybe it was Thief Gold that came in that box- man, I don't remember exactly.

I got both Thief Gold and Thief 2 in trapezoidal boxes.

I had one of those trapezoidal boxes waaaay back the first one I ever bought. Thief The Dark Project I believe it was. Somewhere along the way I lost that box in a move or "a great throwing out of junk" or something.
My original Thief The Metal Age (aka: Thief 2) came in a regular old rectangular box, and I still have the 4-part CD holder cardboard thingie they came in. I have since bought a Thief Gold along the way, but that rectangular box is lost and all I have left of it is one of those fold-out 4-cd dealies that is about to fall apart - it's already come loose along one edge and another is about to go...this may be the one that came in that trapezoidal box.
I bought extra copies of Thief Gold and Thief 2 and I have since given them away.
Then, I bought a Platinum edition of Thief that contains a single disc of Thief The Dark Project and two-disc Thief 2.
I also have floating around here in this oblivion two copies of Thief 2 on DVD that I got FREE with my subscription of Computer Gaming World (now known as Games For Windows Magazine). Yeah, that's right, they were giving T2 away for FREE!! But, I can't seem to locate them in two "cleaning-up and organizings", so I don't hold out much hope that I still have those. Might be lost. :(

I never had a trapezoidal box.:(
Except for the triple-CD in a DVD case for TDS, all my Thief discs came in those lame paper sleeves with the cellophane windows. I'm glad they survived shipping.

What were the Thief games packaged in the very first time they were released, in the US and the UK? I presume it was the "trapezoidal" box in the US, is this true? And what about TDS? Was that ever released in trapezoidal form, or solely in the DVD-style case?
Also, what was originally packaged with the "trapezoidal" box versions of TDP, TG and TMA? Manuals, artwork etc?
Thanks
