Things in the Thief plots I never quite accepted.
* Garrett and
Viktoria team up. Garrett cares about her. (T2)
I do believe there was a rather interesting discussion ((
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=120337)) about this. As mentioned on there, most suspected this to be the work of a charm or some such of her.

Not really plot releated, But one thing I could never accept, in Thief 1 & 2, all the swordsmen were right-handed.
Actually, in the Medieval times, soldiers were trained to fight in groups. Having one left handed soldier would make the entire group weaker.

Even in the past teachers would force students to write with the right hand. Some even believed that left hand proficiency was an evil sign.

That is true. Both my father & my husband are lefties. The modern word sinister meaning evil or unlucky is derived from the Latin word sinister meaning on the left side.

* The Keepers are revealed, at long last, to be
a band of complete insufferable buffoons. (TDS)
I didn't think they were buffoons. I thought they were confused, stuck with poor leadership (Orland), and didn't have much of a trail (of blood) to follow. What I hate is when one mission has nothing to do with the rest of the plot -- namely, the
Bloodline mission at the beginning of TDS. I wanted to see more of the rivalry between Julian and Ember, despite its pettiness compared to the rest of the storyline.

* Gorman Truart turned out to be
such a weak, forgettable, throwaway plot-devicey villain. (T2)
Well, you have to remember that... no, nevermind...
I agree that he was a rather useless, flat villan, but I think it was his lackies' influence on the plot that made him necassary. I mean, I think Mosely and the other watchmen, along with the Sheriff's.... unfortunate situation, were major fuel for the story (of course)
Now, what I could never understand...
It says that
The Sheriff was killed by some quick-moving beast I know this isn't really important, but...
Okay, how did Mosely's keyring end up there? Did she just hand it off to a treebeast "Yeah, you can take the car if you want." I have to doubt she was some quick-moving monster with retractable claws unless she was Wolverine's child and used some preeety fancy light tricks.

I really think they could've put this whole idea into the story. Why not just make the Opal one of the super-special five items? I don't even know where two of those things came from, anyway...
It would add another mission, too XD "Go find and collect every single peice of the Opal and glue them back together"

I always wondered where they were during TDP. They were never "seen".
I always considered the ratmen to be Pagans. It seemed natural to me at the time...

Garrett and Victoria teaming up that easily.
bartekb81 on 22/7/2008 at 08:57
I like an unexpected alliance with Viktoria, because it's a nice plot twist and a big surprise in the game, but I also agree with Haplo: Garrett agreed too easily, even if he was so much confused by a whole situation. We mustn't forget he is a selfish and lonely type. On the other hand Viki is quite a persuasive person and has a strong character(and good speaking;)) - she is a Nymph and can handle with a men, heh;)

Ah, now I remember writing an answer to that thread when ttlg collapsed.

I'd like to see some proof for how these guys were treated. I believe left handed soldiers with their shields on the right side were quite good for the right flank, but except for the feeling that I've read something like that about the Romans I cannot offer any authentication.
@Bloodline Opal: Ever heared of Lord Bafford or Lady Rumford again? I don't mean readables or something, but while in TDP/TMA these characters were mentioned somewhere later (or appeared at Shoalsgate Station), this Bloodline thing stretched through TDS for one mission and two halves. That's about the same I guess.
