Hi guys!
So uh, over at the Eidos Thief 4 forums we have a little 'thank you' thing going on for Stephen Russell. Basically you just post a message to him in the thread saying how much you enjoyed his work / what you liked etc and Eidos has agreed to post the responses in digital thank you card that will be sent to Mr Russell.
Thought you guys might be interested, here's the link, it explains it in more detail: (

Please note though its not a place to debate anything relating to the new VA etc, we really just want messages of appreciation :)
Thanks guys

Unfortunately I can not post there since I have been banned.
If I may pass along my message here though.

Mr. Russell. Your voice will be truly missed in Thief 4. It is unthinkable that we won't hear your voice when Garrett speaks. I never dreamed Eidos Montreal would replace you, nor did I ever imagine that their decision would have evoked such a strong emotional response from me. There are well over 1000 signatures on a petition fighting for your return, and we won't give up. There is always hope. Take care Mr. Russell. Hope to hear your Garrett again. - Tim Gormley, PEI, Canada

Mr. Russell, I hadn't been satisfied by most video gaming experiences for 10 years, prior to Thief II: The Metal Age coming to me through a friend's new computer and stack of free discs. By the time I had finished that game, and before I knew you had also voiced Dumb Guard/Benny, Hammerites, Karras, the wimpy servant, and other townspeople, I was blown away by what you had been able to do with the material you were given. I was laughing, scared, feeling sympathy and empathy, and not wanting that world and characters to come to an end, and so, of course, I went seeking the original title, and found an online forum where I've met (online, anyway) some really great individuals who also love the Thief games and your work. Heh, many of us purchased multiple copies of the games back then, hoping for more Thief titles, and hoping some of the proceeds would get to you and the fine folks at Looking Glass, even if we were incorrect in our assumption. We haven't known a better way to thank you for the embarrassment of rich endless entertainment from your work on these games, but we always smile to hear your characterizations. They just resonate and never get old. You played a huge part, pun intended, in making the Thief video game series timeless, which is a rarity in an industry where the tech grows obsolete so fast. Thank you, Sir. We hope to hear more from you in a new Thief game someday.
