Anyone sorta let down from the end of Deadly Shadows? Besides its riddle conclusion i never really felt that Garret got the super powers i thought he would get. Whats with all the keepers becoming exposed and all their writings vanishing, is garret supposed to be the new keeper now then? That seems sorta lame really... and im sad its ended! But i hope a new one comes out... before the next 'ice' age.

Why should Garrett get super powers?
Garrett is a man of action, whereas the Keepers are men who sit and read books and puzzle over the meanings and then when something happens, they all nod their heads and agree that the writings foresaw it.
But now all the writing is gone, and they'd be useless, lost, without a man of action to lead them. Maybe now they can actually start acting as Keepers of the Balance rather than simply Watchers as the Balance Sways.
I don't think it's lame at all. I think it's a very profound event for a group of men who sat in the shadows and read magic books that told the future and played at their meddlesome games from the safety of their invisible towers should now be blind, exposed, and forced to adapt or perish. But, they now have Garrett to lead them. Who knows what new form the Keepers will take?
I think it's up to us to decide that. If we wait for another "Thief game" to discover the answer, then I feel we will never have one.

**SPOILER**
I was really hoping that the kid that Garrett catches trying to steal from him would be taken in as his apprentice. The story would continue from there. Maybe some other evil afflicting the City. You do stealth, stealing etc missions and build your character up a bit like an RPG. Sort of like thief with a twist.

Does he need ones? All the powers he really needs are in the game from the very beginning ;)

It'd be cool if he had Nighteye like Oblivion or possibly detect life. I dunno...

He does have a night eye...

Yeah, but it a focused one with zoom. I mean a general night eye. Say like in Oblivion where Gareet can choose 3 items of jewellery. A ring of Night eye, an amulet of detect life and something else.

I dunno.... I don't see why he should need all that magic stuff, when he can do perfectly without it. If include magic to inventory, then the game should include enemies to use that magic against. For now I can only think of the Keeper's crozier...

It's already a dark game. They've done the lighting well enough so such items aren't necessary. It's more for a roleplaying game then Thief, but most epic games tend to be roleplaying games nowadays, save for Halo, Half Life and adventure games with light roleplaying elements like Shenmue and Zelda.
