Rears its head once again - a new trailer has been made available on GT, featuring some good bits of actual gameplay. Out of the only two upcoming strategy titles that I'm interested in, this TBS is the one I'm more excited about. The other being Starcraft II, despite having played rather little of its predecessor. In spite of our sort of love/hate relationship, Disciples II was one of those games that sucked me in for hours on end. Aside from these two, I don't think I'll give much of a damn about any other strategy title any time soon, unless they bring Dune back from its sandy grave.
Anyway, Wikipedia suggests it's expected in the first quarter of 2009. The gameplay looks to have remained largely along the same lines as its predecessor. A notable change, and a welcome one, in my opinion, is the increased emphasis on the RPG side of your chosen heroes. It looks like we won't just have feats to add, this time around, but a full bunch of stats, as well. The hero inventory also seems to have gained a facelift, as equipable items include armor parts, that also change your character's look. Unfortunately, it looks like two of the races got the axe - The Undead Hordes (my favourites from II) and The Mountain Clans. I don't know about the Clans, as I haven't played their campaign to completion, but with the Undead, at least, I suppose it makes sense after the expansion. Bringing them back would be, if you'll excuse the pun, kinda like beating on the dead horse.
Another change is in the tech department - much as expected, the graphics is going the way of 3D, and from what I've seen so far, it looks ok, but it appears a bit too early to make up my mind. Disciples 2 had some truly beautiful visuals - its 2D graphics really had character, and I hope the new devs, .dat, manage to capture those elements, but I remain somewhat skeptical.
Enough ranting, here's a link to some trailers:

That looks fucking awesome!
Shame about them taking away two races, though.

Movement on the Eastern Front.
RPS have (

The game seems to have had a decent overall transition to 3D, though I'll have to echo Rossignol about the battle maps being the exception, with a rather
meh look. Hopefully that will improve until release, which Wikipedia now slates in Q4 2009. As for the rest of the visuals, the meshes don't strike me as first rate, but the art style still seems to go a long way towards making up for that. The game's (

Oh I've been following Disciples 3 since I heard the rumor that it might come out. :) So excited about this.

Yeah, but maybe an expansion will bring them back somehow, who knows. Though it does make sense for them not being there if we follow the story.

Is there a english version of the site?
Ostriig on 17/9/2009 at 01:43
Top right corner, just next to the sound button, press the red EN.

I think setting the browser to full screen would fix it.
