No worries, it's great to see people are still interested in Disciples. Glad Pidesco's solution worked for you!

Glad to have helped. I can't wait for this bloody game to come out. It feels like it has been in production longer than DNF.

To this day, a month does not pass in which I do not load up and/or play a quest or saga of Disciples 2. Along with Majesty 2 (another heavily replayed original), this will be an extremely rare "pay full price upon release" purchase.
Can't wait!!:D

And up you go again, little thread!
Good news for those of us still interested in Disciples III, looks like a trailer was put out at E3, and (
http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2010/06/25/disciples-iii-renaissance-releaseitude/) RPS picked up on it. On the one hand I'm glad to see the project's still alive and kicking, on the other I'm beginning to fear more and more for the transition to 3D. Disciples II's visuals were really instrumental in painting the game's atmosphere, I think, and while this newest trailer still shows the same superb art style, the assets strike me as not really up to the task.

I'm more concerned about the combat system. It looks like it changed from the original style to HoM&M style, something which partly made the difference between the two games. I can't say that I like that. At all. I really hope they actually make Disciples 3 and not Disciples - Heroes of Might and Magic.

Crap, hadn't even noticed, units are moving around the battlescreen now, aren't they?
Anyway, there's a (
http://www.gamershell.com/download_60946.shtml) demo out for those wanting to give it a shot. I can't because it's four gig and I'm posting off a shitty mobile broadband dongle still.

Demo is very cool - I've got a few hours of enjoyment out of it so far and I will probably buy when it's released. They've kept the same basic gameplay mechanic, but drastically improved the battles by making them slightly more reminiscent of HoMM / King's Bounty.
Very, very cool.

To me the change of the battle system feels as if the game lost one of the things that made it different from the others. I find it hard to explain why I don't like it at all, because all of the reasons are part of a personal preference and all of them seem tiny and insignificant. However when I add them up... I find that Disc 3 just makes me want to play Disc 2. It's the small things that matter.

Each to their own. I for one just found the older system less exciting than it is now.
All they've really changed is the graphics and the fact that meleé units now have to actually be in the place they are making the attack. Adds a whole level of strategy to ranged units.
Also, the modifier tiles add a nice touch.
