Hey guys, having kind of a weird issue with one of the Dishonored blueprints. I don't think it counts as a spoiler but if you're really uptight about such things, move on.
I found the blueprint for Incandescent Paste but it didn't seem to register in my follow-up conversation with Piero. I loaded the game several times, double-checked my inventory to ensure that the blueprints were there prior to speaking with him and they're removed from the inventory as soon as we talk, but I didn't get any kind of "new upgrade available" notification and there's no option to purchase it, even after finishing the next mission. Has anyone else run into anything similar, or am I just doing it wrong somehow?

Did you look over the other upgrades available? I seem to vaguely remember that one having a prereq

I've upgraded the hell out of just about everything, including (as far as I know) all the crossbow options. The boot stealth upgrade picked up in the subsequent mission turned up normally. It's not a big deal (unless it costs me a cheevo), it's just a very odd bit of behaviour.

Oh, wait. Incandescent paste isn't an unlockable upgrade, it just means he can make and sell fire bolts now. Check the ammo screen instead.

Oh, that's what that is? Christ. I never even noticed, the only ammo I ever buy is sleep darts. Thanks!

I was noticing the game was mixing categories with stuff. Like the "turn to ash on kill" power. It's not really a power that you trigger & it uses up mana. It's just when you have that upgrade, it's a passive power always there and that's what happens. So I'm not surprised they did that for a blueprint too, throw in something that doesn't really fit with the others in the category, but it's just as well put there as anywhere.

I can dig implementing it that way, it actually makes good sense. I'm just surprised that Piero didn't say, "Whoa dude, now we can make boom bolts" or something to that effect. It's a bit of a feedback sputter - although the complete lack of complaint about it here or anywhere else indicates that it could just reflect my own unique hangups about such things.

No,I noticed this with blueprints. An oversight by the designers I think.
