As many of you guys probably know, Arkane will release Dishonored GOTY this week. I suppose this means that there will be no more official DLC for the game. So please let’s imagine that Arkane will release some day the editor, too. Would you like to download it? Would you like to create an FM for this game?
But before you answer, please remember that EM probably won’t release the editor for Thief 4. Why am I saying all this? Frankly, I personally think that Dishonored is more Thief-esque than Thief 4 will be. I know, Thief 4 is yet not released, so it might seem silly to compare a released and unreleased games, but nevertheless... So what do you, FM authors, think about Dishonored as a base for your new FMs?
P.S. As you probably know, Dishonored is based upon Unreal Engine 3.x, the most popular game engine ATM. It has a lot of free documentation and video lessons; it’s very well optimized for any hardware, i.e. it doesn’t matter how old your CPU and GPU are - Dishonored is more-less playable even on Pentium 4/Athlon 64 & any SM3-compatible video card (including integrated). Also, the game works fine on Windows XP.

I chose the second option. The Doom 3 source code was released a while ago, and TDM will eventually be standalone. I think that's a big advantage.

I have no idea. I like this community and want to keep supporting it. If the fans go away, then I suppose I will too.

Yeah, seems it'll happen very soon, maybe even this October.

Agreed. But what does it change? I think the more platforms FM authors do have, the better. We all remember the time when there was no TDM, but some people wanted to create their FMs for it, and their dream has came true four years ago. So maybe somebody today wants to create their FMs for Dishonored, and who knows, maybe their dream will come true some day, too.
LarryG: I like this community, too :). It's a very creative & talented people, who deserve the best tools for their activity.

Very few modern games release full editing tools, and they are leaps and bounds harder to use than the older BSP-based stuff. Most everything consists of custom models welded together.
That said, I'd enjoy playing Dishonored fan missions, if they were available. But I'm not getting my hopes up.

Yes, it's a common trend nowadays. Nevertheless, I think it's still possible to create a decent SP map for just few months even in UE3-based game, using just stock assets.

Me too :).

I voted yes because there is nothing wrong with having the option of more content. Even when the developers move on to other projects, the fans keep the community and interest alive.
Als, in regards to TDM standalone, try running tdm_update.exe right now. ;)

Exactly!!! That's why Arkane & Bethesda should release the editor for Dishonored. It could help the game be more-less popular for
many years.

Taff! It's not a poll that will make TDM disapearing or anything else!
IMO: Nothing will replace nothing. This poll is none-sense!
If you want to get Dishonored Map editor, download it, if you won't to get it don't download it of course! XD
