There is something wrong with you.
What is wrong with
you? I agree that the numbers twins are kind of going about it the wrong way but the principle still stands - winning a case in a court of law does not automatically mean that you didn't do something stupid. And RBJ's approach to it, no matter who the poster was, was just as assholish as you can get. It's fine to take issue in principle but come on - 3456 was making a joke and then just defending common sense. I don't really see any retort to the claim that this woman made a mistake apart from huurrrr the courts said so. There's a lot of crazy stuff that is "validated" them there courts man. Alot.

Fucking christ, you're as stupid as they are, this is why you have no friends.
The question was whether or not she's sue happy.
Which implies that she's bringing frivolous suits.
Which implies that she shouldn't have brought the suit in the first place.
This is disproved by the fact that A) she won the case, and more than that, that B) legal scholars - you know, the PEOPLE WHO KNOW THIS SHIT BETTER THAN YOU DO - have all looked at it and said "Well, fucking duh, of course she won,
McDonald's did something stupid, not her."
So yeah, am I going to be unfriendly about this? Deservedly so, because this woman did something that people in the same situation do every day, and was seriously fucking hurt because she had no reason to expect, let me repeat this again for the stupid among you...
THIRD DEGREE BURNS AND SKIN GRAFTSFucking christ, how are you people still going "Hurrr, well, maybe it was reasonable for her to just suck it up and not stick to her guns and ask for them to pay for her medical expenses"
HOW FUCKING DUMB ARE YOU?

I realize who i'm talking to, but there is nothing incorrect about saying the lady was kind of idiotic.
YES. THERE. IS.
When you
don't even know what she did (hint. she wasn't driving. she didn't hit a bump. she was merely putting cream in her coffee while pulled over in the parking lot), you have absolutely no basis or right to pass any sort of judgment upon her actions.
Yes, she could have prevented it. Your dad could have prevented a lot of misery and heartbreak if he had merely left you as the cumstain on a pillow that you should have been. That doesn't change the fact that she was simply acting as people do every day, in an entirely reasonable and expected manner, and was hurt because the average person does not expect third degree burns from coffee.

I agree that McD's did something wrong, and I'm well aware of the "Huurr, dumb lawsuit LOL!" assery that is often wheeled out over this case and has clearly been so itt by numbers crew.
I still ALSO agree that it's just a tad careless to put free hot coffee between your legs, however hot. I just thought that you were a little rude about it all, especially with your first post. But Oh God sometimes these people drive you to it I know and it is numbers crew after all ack I give up. Ok. Ok? Carry on.

Now wasn't that easy, RBJ? All you had to do was threaten to count him with the out-crowd in this hilarious popularity contest called commchat. And he caves in and sucks it up.
You haven't even produced a single argument to contradict, what common sense can tell anyone about this accident. All you needed was cussing and large fonts and
teh experts said so!
If a kid puts it's hand on the stove it gets burned. Most of us learn that early on. And coffee is brewed with boiling water. No surprise either. 3rd degree burns and skin grafts, terrible as they are, don't release grown up people from thinking for themselves.
But you probably know that most people here don't even care if you're right or wrong. They just like to watch their evil clown take it out on the awkward and uncool, as long as it's not them. And you willingly fill that role.

I'm not caving in dude, I just can't be bothered with the lackluster attempts at, well anything that goes on in here. See my latests thread starts in Thief Gen for a clue. There are certainly members who I'll jump all over the minute they say something stupid and I get the impression RBJ has done that with numbers, but I only really thought about it as I was typing.
You're being a double tard if you think I'd give a crap about any so-called popularity contest - as evidenced by my posting history. In fact you are the only one that'd be bothered about that and yeah it's true that you certainly won't be winning any part of that contest that exists inside your mind.
Having said that I, unlike you, have the ability to dissect fact from fool and I wholeheartedly agree with you on this "You haven't even produced a single argument to contradict, what common sense can tell anyone about this accident." though I don't really think that the common sense issue is anything RBJ is interested in.
Rug Burn Junky on 20/11/2007 at 22:40
Hello... cognitive dissonance? I haven't produced any argument to contradict common sense?
Can you read? That's a legitimate question, based on the severity of your ignorance here. Or do you just slap at the keyboard like a monkey and that's what came out?
COMMON SENSE = "Hey, I can safely hold this cup of coffee, and if it spills on me, while I may get slightly burned, I won't require skin grafts."
COMMON SENSE = "We, McDonald's, as a company have been warned on multiple occasions that our coffee is brewed hotter than any other publicly available coffee, and it has injured multiple people because of this fact, so maybe we should just turn down the heat so that it's in line with everyone else."
COMMON SENSE = "Hey, this woman got hurt because we negligently decided not to turn down the heat on our coffee, maybe we should at the very least pick up the medical expenses because of it."
In fact, COMMON SENSE = something that you plainly don't possess. Because the only people championing common sense here are the ones that A) don't know the facts of what happened, B) don't have the slightest clue why McD's
should be punished for acting like that regardless of what the woman did, and C) if it weren't for the safety warnings and lawsuits that protect them would probably have Darwined themselves into an early grave already.
Now fucking run along, christ. While it may be true that
Quote:
To see someone defend his right for lukewarm coffee so vehemently amuses me [to](sic) no end.
, that's not in fact what was going on, so it only belies your poor understanding if you honestly believe that's what I was defending.
Maybe it's the language barrier, or, maybe, you're really just plain that dumb. Either way, go back to the idiocracy from whence you came, and leave me the fuck alone, because while people may in fact enjoy seeing me tear a new asshole into idiots such as yourself, I'm sure many would be pleased to see you never post in the first place.

Of course you do. Because "Hey, that's just common sense" is the last refuge of the stupid when they have no where else to hide.
st.patrick on 20/11/2007 at 22:59
COMMON SENSE No. 3.1415926535 = "Coffee is made by pouring near-boiling water over ground coffee beans."
COMMON SENSE No. Bo. Dy Ca. Res. = "If you desire coffee, why the fuck did you go to McD's in the first place?"
