Thanks for the replies. A couple more questions...
Do human enemies sometimes use the items they're carrying? i.e. healing potions?
Also, a guard getting killed by something other than you (i.e. zombies) doesn't count against the mission right?

Question 1: Yes, though it might not happen every time.
Question 2: Not in the original missions. Fan missions might handle things differently, but it depends on the setup.

Ah ok, I thought a Hammerite used a healing potion after fighting some zombies, but I wasn't sure.
I'm impressed with the AI in this game and the randomness of it, especially for a game released in 1998. I love how you can lure monsters into view of the guards and have them take each other out, and the atmosphere is fantastic even by today's standards. It reminds me in some ways of my all-time favorite game, Gothic.

there is only 2 fan missions i can think of that you must get a key/etc out of a box to complete mission at least on hardest setting
forgot missions names, but i know one of them was in a basement that was flooded with water, and there were some boxes in a few different rooms and hallways, maybe some spiders too,and for other missions i remember box in a sewer water way you swam in,not walkable,do you had to grab one box at a time to find out what one had item you needed

.
Wait really? How is it I never noticed this?:weird:

It wasn't commonly used. I can only remember seeing it done by one of the Hammerites in Cragscleft. And if you play 'properly', either ghosting or using the blackjack, you won't see the effect.

Ah okay. How does one know that the item has been used? That is, does the health potion disappear from the AI's belt then?

Yep, it was in Cragscleft where I thought it happened. I lured a zombie to where there is two Hammerite guards and then ran off while they fought each other. When I came back, the guard who carries the healing potion on his belt no longer had it.

I just looked at the mission. The healing potion is there on Normal and Hard. I tested it using Dromed but he wouldn't drink it. It might work differently in game. The first time I played the mission (TDP, not TG) I wasn't very good at sneaking, and that's how I discovered it. He drank it properly, i.e. he raised his arm.

Excuse me, is this the Blackjack appreciation party? Pardon any disrespect but... empty your wallets. :ebil:
