You seem to be discounting the Glyph Seals (?) that the Keepers made to seal off the Haunted Cathedral.
Nope, like the letter you post say they are 'Elemental Wards' and such. I don't remember any form of Glyph magic used.
Solabusca:
sorry, alot of what i said i didn't seam to see game stuff going against it for one thing. Missing the point was probebly oblivious on my point cause i think i completey missed it..
I don't mean to annoy people... I guess lack of 'tact' is a problem. I don't see why things should be sugar coated.. bad spelling and bad grammer is related to something i don't wish to go into right now, as for getting arise out of people... I can never understand why that happens.. I try to be as truthful as possible, i put forth an idea, expecting someone else to find the problem and show why it's not true, there for i learn. I do get a little annoyed when people say it's wrong without any thing to back up there side but then, i fear sometimes i seam to forget to put all the stuff i need to back up what i have said.

Yes, and one of the "off-topic" kind to boot. :joke:

I hope I'm not being too presumptuous:
mc10603A: (Frustrated) A pox upon it! Never shall I finish my design. The springs and gears conspire to confound me.
mc40603B: Calm, Friend, calm…. On the morrow let me come by thy workbench and help thee untangle things.
mc10603C: (Humble) I--I would be most grateful. Couldst thou help?
mc40603D: Tis nothing. Think on it as the copper and tin mingle to make the stronger bronze, so doest we each mingle and flow together in Karras's forge to make stronger, as well.
mc10603E: (Impressed) Thou art wise.
mc40603F: Tis Karras who is truly wise. His bounty, and the machines we construct, shall help all of humanity in the coming times, and all shall know his wisdom.
mc10603G: I will be glad to have this wretched task behind me that I may move to a more profitable position.

subtext there if you want to see it, but then it could be like a child to a Master, impressed at there skillful actions... or don't we have that kind of relationship between people this days?
Quote Posted by jtr7
Subtext means beneath the surface text. It obviously is directly about the project and needing assistance. Indirectly it's full of double-entendre if you look.
Quote Posted by Meisterdieb
Well, with a lot of good will (or should I say naughty thoughts) I could make the last part into something "different".
We are talking about sexual subtext here, or are my thoughts just too dirty :cheeky:
But maybe one would have to hear the conversation as they probably convey a lot more emotion or connotations by voice than simple transcription.
I only yhave the German version and I honestly don't find any subtext in the written or spoken dialogue..
(@jtr7: what's with the presumptuous bit?)
Quote Posted by jtr7
Yes, sexual subtext. I figured the translated versions wouldn't convey it. I won't be so crass as to describe it line-by-line.:ebil:
Presumptuous...I was hoping I wasn't presuming to know what Sola' was talking about as I answered for him.:)

Ah, but my point is really that the problem with reading between the lines is sometimes there is nothing there to read. Sometimes what you think is there, is something completely different. I bet if the guy turned around and made a clear pass at her, she might hit him around the head with her mace.. that does happen...
of course, it COULD be there, or it could not ^_^
Well if that 'subtext' is really there then I feel sorry for him 'cause he got stuck on the stairs and I had to knock him out to escape the basement in safety. Where do they go after that conversation anyway. The AI react wierd at times in Eavesdropping.
Sorry for the massive quote rush...

you really gotta feel sorry for some of the poor folks in the game.. Read how much they save that little bit of money up, and then you come along and rob them.. ^_^ I wonder how a Hammerites parents take the news:
"Mom, Dad, I hath heard the noble voice of the Builder and i will join the ranks of his holy army"
"...."
"Mom... dad... wake up will thou"

have heard... I shall"
"Mom... Dad... wake up, will ye?" Or "willt thou", mayhaps, but since 'tis plural...
Are you sure you're from England?

I will begin to do my own recording of all the hammer voice files in thief to correct there English right away! the fact the don't use the right words, the fact they sometimes use 'you' instead of 'thy', the fact there stick to no fixed rules of this arcane version of English.
Oh and i have tried not to say it but fine, I'm bloody Dyslexia! Laught! Go on, Make fun of me, Poor little dyslexic sussex boy! Tries his best but gets nothing but insults! I doubt anything you have to say is something i haven't heard before. And while you are at it, i'm currently getting help for social problems cause for some unknown reason, i got it into my head that people aren't very nice.
Sorry to anyone hear that is a nice person but for the few that don't seam to have even the most basic of human niceness, I'm beyond caring now.
RavynousHunter on 26/3/2009 at 21:13
Well, shit, you should've told us (or at least me) that earlier! I can understand if you're dyslexic, dude.
jtr7 on 26/3/2009 at 21:38
Anybody who makes fun of you for being dyslexic is a child and not worthy to give the time of day to.
Sorry you felt you had to air your embarrassing secret.:(

I apologize for blowing my top a little. I will try harder in the future.. but that was a little joke (about the hammer and his parents) which not only had the in-joke about what would happen (since the Hammers don't have the best rep) but how there language doesn't seam to confirm to any set rules. Most of my jokes seam to go over people's heads.
Anyway. Sorry for going OTT, I will work harder in the future and I hope I don't make the seam mistake twice. And I wish this spell checker had real 'English' not American English spellings ¬_¬;
