My ex was seriously convinced that women don't fart. I dunno, very traditional upbringing and all that. I pointed it out to her a few times and that was that.
If you want a more scientific sounding answer: The female gastro-intestinal tract is practically the same as with males. There's nothing in it to stop females from farting.
It doesn't make them any less awesome of course.

The real message message that women want to transport when stating 'women don't fart' is, that women don't fart just for fun and surely don't want to have any audience.
Since having fun is an imporatant way to keep your mind sane, what else needs to be stated on that topic?

Of course women fart.
The difference is that some guys are lame enough to think they are sooo cool when they fart. Women usually know that it sounds awful and smells worse.
