No thanks.

Sure, why not? So long as they make sure the single-player part is good, I don't mind a bit.

I agree, but I'm curious to hear the arguments of people that vote 'no'.

I have changed my opinion completley. Apologies for earlier comments. If this is real (and I assume it is), then it does look promising. I checked on TTLG forums following the link to the youtube video (and again I apologise if this has already been posted), but check out this video.

Even if it is fake (and I doubt it after reading the forum), the premise here looks fantastic. I have to say im converted to the idea!

And where is the stealth game play in that video? It looks like everyone is in rush. You see with multiplayer we are missing the point of the game which is stealth, tactic and patience. Where are all those?
Here is mine

Though the youtube link doesn't work, I'm assuming it's about the Thief Multiplayer Patch. Indeed, stealth and patience have disappeared a bit in there. But when Thief 4 contains a Multiplayer mode, it can easily be completely different than that of Thief 2 - like levels that you really need to play with two players.

I don't want one, but I'm pretty bloody sure we're getting one. Let's see how stealth-centric it's going to remain in the hands of caffeine-overdosed 14-year-olds, whose kneejerk reaction when they so much as smell a gamepad is to mash the attack trigger until something dies.

it's not something I will ever use

I said NO to third-person, but come on people! by multiplayer, you can just imagine it now: Every thief for themselves, or the big heist!

Lay in the foundation so multiplayer can be modded in without too much work, but design the missions with only single-player in mind. It's not anti-multiplayer, it's anti-compromised single-player.

Sure, multiplayer would be pretty cool, just as long as it's optional.
