As for dromed I get the following message when clicking on the shortcut:

Trying to use thief 2 extensions, but the exe version is incompatible
I replaced the broken CD Thief.exe with the one you linked to.
P.S. the above pic was originally screenshot1.BMP, because all the screenDUMPS.pcx I took came out completely hot pink.
EDIT: hang on, I just changed DDFix.ini to "1" for extensions. Dromed is working now, I'll see what it looks like.
EDIT: dromed working now, objects are rendering PROPERLY in dromed, just not in Thief.exe

Somehow something got mixed up as I can see. Do not worry about that, we can fix it. Just tell me, what's the real path the game is installed in?

I think you'll have to reinstall the game. Don't use the hack this time. Full installation with Tafferpatcher (old version 0.6 (
http://www.southquarter.com/downloads/TafferPatcher.exe)). Edit user.cfg (skip_starting_checks) and darkinst.cfg (";"). Put the game in C:\T2 or something like that. It's always bad to have long paths
I recommend to use catalyst 9.3 or 9.4

Hi Fib,
Followed all this exactly, including installing Catalyst 9.3. Worse than how far we had gotten. Now after the objective screen, I choose start and a dark screen, a pause and "Thief blablab has encountered a problem and needs to shut down.....blaubalbau SEND---- DON'T SEND
Still as ever though, I can load up miss1 in dromed and play without crash and the vine decals and bunkbeds render properly.

The "old" rig is the much older rig. This rig is still old. Both are single core processors.
