I found a web site that sells software that they say is free. All you have to pay for is shipping and packaging, which is 5.99. All of the software that I found here is 5.99 each. If you search this site, you will also find Thief 1 the Dark Project, and Deus Ex 1 Game of the Year Edition, and probably some others you would like. I already have Deus Ex 1 and Thief 2, but grabbed these at this site for backups.

Umm, 6 dollars isn't free. That's some Komag math right there.

Hi Yubetcha
As one of our rather excitable members has pointed out it isnt exactly free, but its quite cheap I`ll grant you.

Hi, guys
Well, that's why I put the word free in quotes. To indicate that it really isn't, even though the site says it is. But still, shipping and the package it comes in will probably cost what.... 3 or 4 dollars? So the game is probably cheaper than you will find anywhere else. I even searched on eBay. You can't get it that cheap even there, and you probably won't find it cheaper anywhere else.

I'm wondering about the legality of that...

Yeah, this sounds exceptionally sketchy. But I can't actually find the sketchiness, so I don't know what to do here. :(

Yeah, we don't have "contacts" within the studios anymore.:(

This doesn't seem all that complicated. The site is just a clearinghouse for old software, and the "free!!" bit is pure marketing.

You're right on all counts, Zylon. I have bought software from them many times. The software is original, and this is perfectly legal. You won't find new software here. I have a nephew who used to have a business in which he bought goods from stores that had closed and had stock left over, and then he would resell them at a profit. I would guess that this may not be far off from that.

For UK people, Thief 1 and 2 are currently £1.99 in the UK on the Sold Out label.
I bought T:MA for £4.99 and still consider it the biggest bargain I've had (followed closely by Deus Ex for £1.99, TDP for 99p (2nd hand), and R-Type on the GBA for 15p).
