I'd forgotten about it, but now that you mention it, I remember some cold days I had a hood and found myself with it on while playing, and IIRC it did add to the experience.

Never really occurred to me before, but I suppose it could block out peripheral vision, so all you would see was the game screen...

I tend to put my hood up. I claim it's to block out more light, but really I just like pretending I'm Garrett. :o

When playing a snowy, wintry mission I'd up the AC to give the room a nice chill!
I haven't owned anything with a hood since I was a kid.

ITT Pav plays Thief naked.
True/False?
I haven't tried playing with a hood yet; but I'm willing to try just about anything once (ONCE...!). Okay; sometimes twice ... except calamari and/or liver. :eww:
I say whatever trips your trigger, right? ;)

I'm always so hot...and the computer just heats up the office terribly!
I do what is needed. I can't have anything interfering with my Thieving! :cheeky:

Yes this is what I mean. It is the same first-person view Garret would have. On the same level as using a steering wheel on a racing game.

My late husband used to belong to several online racing teams and he had the whole setup: steering wheel, a footboard with clutch & accelerator, gear shift, etc., and he also used to sometimes wear a helmet. The first time I walked into the PC room (we actually had a whole room dedicated to our PCs, both of us being gamers & all ;) ) and saw him wearing his helmet I laughed so hard I thought I was gonna wet my pants. He was a good sport though and laughed right along with me. After that I think he only wore the helmet when I wasn't home. :cheeky: He did say that it actually added to the experience.
So I don't think it's weird or strange if someone wants to immerse themselves as much as they can in their game; naked, hooded, or whatever.
@Pav: just teasin' sweetness! We know you're hot! :cheeky:

Our 'office' is really the computer room at our house with a desk & pc set up for each of us with games, older machines & parts hanging around. My hubby has the racing set up with the steering wheel & pedals & all. He likes to play rally games. I admit that when I took a turn behing the wheel, it was so much more fun that way. I really enjoyed it, especially since I haven't driven a real car in over 10 yrs.
I do like to play Thief in the dark. I prefer to use headphones when the hubby's home to avoid hearing whatever he's doing. During the day, I just crank the volume.
