If you are in Europe or the UK then the box is a version but it is on DVD. Not likely to be the original unless they burned the old one and have a patch on the disc. If you are US, the the 4-fold in the top right of the page is the way EIDOS US sold it.
Well malau said his "sold out" stand alone version had 1.07 on it. And this IS a "sold out" stand alone version!
I did not know that there were different boxes! I live in the US but I am buying it from a guy in India.

The original was a trapizoidal box. The four fold was a version that came out a little later in the US. Both were 2 CDs not a single DVD. The single DVD version by Soldout is a later version, I think.
If he says it loads as 1.07 and that the disc includes the patch you should be alright, but there was NO PATCH when the original 1.07 discs were produced. Therefore I think the DVD package is a newer release than the original.

It's the same cover-art, but mine is a CD-ROM version.

To expand on jtr's post. This is in the room across from the pool in the basement. A storeroom that appears empty except for a wall of crates blocking an alcove.
Behind the crates is a hidden gem and the fancy cross shown in the picture jtr posted.

Having only played the patched version, it's cool to see that. I had no idea.

Same here.
Very interesting...
So instead of a big gear, two candles, and a gold nugget there, its that? Makes me a bit curious of that object. :erg:

It's Level Designer Rich Carlson's signature shrine object, originally drawn up on graph paper and meant to look potentially evil. He's placed ones like it in a couple of other games, including American McGee's Alice. It was removed to keep to the canon of the rising Mechanist religion. I can't remember if there's still a silver nugget in the nook to the right and behind it, or something else, or not. I only played this version back in 2001, and Eshaktaar took that screenshot for me years ago.

Oh, the silver nugget still there. And so is that light mushroom.
