For my own part, although I think Garrett looks very cool in Thief 3, I always thought he'd be wearing a cape, and definitely not have his manflesh arms exposed.

Pretty much. Yeh, his arms shouldn't be exposed and i did think that his garb should look more like the garb he wears in Metal Age, but he's mostly how i imagined him.
I Thief 3's final cutscene he looks as if he has curly hair as you can see a curl - i thought this was wierd, i'd always though him as bald or having very sort hair.

YES, EXACTLY AS IN MY DREAMS

I never really had a clear idea of what he looked like, except for a pointed chin like in TDS. The way they made him is pretty good with what I was expecting.

It always amused me that Garrett seemed to get better looking with each Thief game. In TDP, from the little bits of Garrett that you could see, he looked rather seedy and sinister. He seemed to have course features (large nose, jutting chin) which were always heavily shadowed. In TMA he seems a tad more 'cleaned up'; though he still looks weathered and still has a prominent nose, he doesn't look as sinister. And then WHAM! In TDS Garrett seems to have undergone cosmetic surgery, losing about 10-15 years off his appearance. Gone are the creases in his face and somewhat once haggard-looking shadows; his nose looking almost aquiline now. With the more angular cheekbones and fairer complexion, he had an almost 'movie-star' look about him in the third installment of Thief. Plus, from the look of his upper arms in TDS, it appears Garrett had started to work out on a daily basis.
And I missed the cloak that was absent in TDS, too. :p (Nothing like a man in a black cloak to take a woman's breath away.) ;)
So, no; Garrett in TDS looks absolutely nothing like the Garrett I first imagined in TDP & TMA.

The cloak existed only in artworks and cutscenes. Ever tried to walk silently with such a thing on your back? Same with the dagger – I think these parts made it even more realistic. But the face...I don't have an image of Garrett's face, but for an anti-cliché I'd like him to look like in TDP, as Dia already pointed out. After all he has at least three different faces in TDS.

I prefer the TMA Garrett personally. How he appears in the cutscene after Trail of Blood is how I usually picture him. In TDS, he just looks rather- odd. In TDS, what with the different faces, it's hard for me to come to a verdict. One of his faces is too feminine, and the other one's weird. Soo, TMA Garrett for me, especially with the cool cloak, as Dia said :p (fangirl much? Me?)

I remember that if you throw the spyball thingie in thief2 and watch yourself (oh yeah, baby, mmm) you see no cape.

Also, if I remember correctly, in TDP in the cutscene where garrett is hired to steal the eye he looks like a midget compared to constantine and viktoria whereas in thief 3 he looked like a fairly tall person
Ironically, he gets a comment from Bertha in Thief 3 about being shorter than she expected.

Maybe its because Garrett went through a growth spurt between those two points. :erm: I mean, he couldnt have been any older than say 20 or so after his Keeper training, and some people do continue to grow well into their mid/late 20s. I agree that stealth in a cloak would be a tad difficult, but it wouldve been awesome to see Garrett in it anyways, just because it looked so good on him. :thumb:
