Briareos knows.:sly: He repeated a theme from the Body Awareness thread with his tag, the first anyone posted for this thread, 'cause he doesn't like me, but the theme is entirely inappropriate to this one, and not at all accurate, thus, I countered his inaccuracies and reminded him of where it went last time. I told him before that his judgments of my intent and motive were incorrect. He's unqualified and I know he will continue to mangle the meaning of my words. Because of who he was siding with last time, I used the term "butcher" for how strongly unqualified he and they were for believing to know where I'm coming from and why, and their assumptions of such are profoundly disturbing in how distanced they are from the truth. I was taken aback by what felt like a betrayal since I didn't know he was harboring such ill towards me. He can stuff his unfounded bias and consorting with other such butchers.

I explained quite specifically that it was emotion exactly, simply a very similar feeling which is evoked by this trailer. But if you want side by side comparisons, I'll label them for you. The shot of garret as he aims his bow at a guard is what I thought of with the same shot in the trailer of the movie, plus the music. If I had Thief installed I would take a photo for you. I honestly don't see why people are such up in arms about this, because someone said "oh this trailer reminded me of Thief" is not some sort of claim to similarity. I'll say it again, it made me think of Thief. Take that as you will.

Too late, The Alchemist. A thousand things can make me think of Thief, and you made a direct comparison between two whole promos, making it seem to be more than mere feelings, calling the Robin Hood trailer a "rip off". The answer is no it's not--at all. Your own words are in contradiction to what you now say in your current embarrassment. If the sound of a person's voice made me think of a character in Thief, I would say, if anything, that that particular spoken bit reminded me of the particular character in Thief. I would not say the whole work that contained the snippet reminded me of the whole work with teh particular character. In other words, you left it wide open, and I find nothing similar enough between the trailer and the Thief Intro to say one whole reminds me of the other. An action film set mostly in a historic period, often in the daytime, without magic, steampunk, Industrial Age elements, or the surreal, inherently feels different to me on the whole than the great majority of the Thief Intro.
"Anyone interested in the new Robin Hood film? I thought of Thief, of course, though there's little to compare. :p"
