Both DX3 and Thief: Modern (no idea what they were going to call it) were being actively worked on (in DX3's case) and on the drawing board (in TM's case) then ION was shut down because eidos is not in the business of telling its employees "just stop working, we're planning to cancel your projects and lay all of you off several weeks after TDS ships" or words to that effect. A developer will begin work on a project before the current one ships because the team working on beta and the team working on concept design often do not share many people - so those on the payroll have to be working on the next game.

Haven't been here in a long time. About the last thing I posted is that I would pay full price for T3 as soon as it was released. I bought the first 2 when the price came down, and came to love them, and especially the fan missions that made the gameplay last forever. Hard to believe I worked full time and got through night school with all the thiefing I was doing. I remember playing the demo over and over, trying new things, stacking bodies, seeing how many guards I could fight at once, see how many I could get to chase me, and my favorite of all time, jumping in the pool to lose them, LOL!!! (Watch out, they will still stab you while they are in the middle of drowning!!!)
Anyway, I hoped that sales of T3 would be good, and that people buying early and at full price would show interest, but the Thief franchise seems to be a niche market. I did suspect that, but what a niche!! I am happy to see that people are still posting and still making fan missions. I will have to download some more and get back into the swing of things.
The only other game I enjoy is Nexiuz, and I got tendonitis by playing too much (and far too much repetition). There are enough different things to do in Thief (any version or fan mission) to keep RSI away. Guess I will go poke about the forum a little more now...
