There are two things I hope to see from this: a CTF bot for Doom 3 ROE, and a faster, more feature-rich version of TDM. Unlike the original Doom, Doom 3 isn't a game that I will be playing over a decade from now unless there is a huge amount of fan-levels that start showing up after this. I don't really understand why Doom 3's multiplayer flopped. It did have pretty good atmosphere. Maybe it was because there were only 4 levels.
Also, the co-op mod for Doom 3 was really awesome. I haven't completed the ROE expansion yet. Maybe I should go find a server running it and play through it in co-op.

Cut it out please, or you can join koki. I've had just about enough of this :(
That goes for y'all, too.

Good news, thanks for the link, lost_soul.

In a few years, it should be possible to play TDM on a device like this. (

The hand-held hardware is pretty much where computer hardware was a decade ago, (improving by leaps and bounds every couple of years.) Keep in mind that Q3a is running in 1080p with 4xAA on a device that costs at most $35 and is the size of a pack of gum.

Beg pardon? Did I just do something against the rules? It wasn't like I was linking to leaked Thief source code the way users were back when it "came out".

Excited about this. I'll be pouring through it and not understanding any of it, but that wont stop me!

Here's how TDM development will basically go once the source is released.
First, they'll get the performance enhancements.
Then, they'll get the extra pretty graphics.
Then...they'll get the weemon.

Main goal is optimization.TDM laggy as fuck...god,even Crysis performs better on Riva TNT2...
Making TDM standalone is not easy task, because it use shitloads of doom 3 content that should be rewrite from scratch and replaced.I bet most of released maps will be trashed (yeah, some of them should be in trash can already but... oh well)
Porting such "hard" C++ engine as d3 on different devices is hard and pointless task which cannot be accomplished without proper coding skills and knowing of Android or another mobile OS

Riva TNT2?! That thing was 6 hardware generations old by the time Doom 3 came out. Who cares how well it runs on such old trash?

My family got a computer with a TNT2 back in the beginning of 2002. Like the Geforce MX, those things were around for a long time. Also you can technically play Doom 3 on a Voodoo 2, but it wouldn't work for TDM because there would be no shadows... which is a problem for a stealth game. (let's see you hardcore taffers ghost FMs now!) lol
