This should demonstrate what I'm talking about. Chronicles of Riddick and Doom 3 are modern sci-fi shooters with similar graphical styles and appearances, movement and weapon feeling, and lighting/shadowing behavior. Sure, Doom 3 has some stuff in common with (lifted from) System Shock 2, but an old FPSRPG from last decade has a remarkably low relevance amongst the modern FPS gamer. Doom 3 and Chronicles of Riddick on the other hand came out in the same year on the same platforms in the same genre set in similar settings aimed at the same target audience.

Alpha demo also had sounds made by Trent Reznor which were superior to the release version. I wonder why iD left all those great demo features and went for typical FPS way.

Is there anything significantly different about it compared to the release version? From what I've seen from videos on YouTube it's pretty much the same, except buggier and with better sound effects for the enemies.

Speaking of which, has anyone tried making a mod for the game which replaces the release sounds with the original Reznor ones?
