Alrighty. As per the multiplayer thread, there is some interest in Doom co-op, so let's get this thing organized! If the multiplayer subform gets created, please move this thread there.
First off, I'm going to pick a completely arbitrary time which is open to negotiation, but we need to start with something:
7 to 9 pm EST (GMT -5) on <del>Thursday Saturday</del> TBD.
Next, we need to pick which maps to play. I will suggest three choices for now:
Plutonia (from Final Doom)

So, please let me know which sounds most interesting to you.
I'd like to play with voice chat, so Skype is preferable. If someone has a Ventrilo server they like, that is an option too. I am "zercius" on Skype for anyone who wants to add me.
Here are some instructions for getting set up:
* Install Doom/Doom 2/Final Doom
* If installing from original CDs or floppies, make sure to (
http://www.doomworld.com/files/patches.shtml) patch your game.
* Download and install (
http://www.skulltag.com/) Skulltag
* Either copy, move or link the doom/doom2/plutonia.wad file to your Skulltag install. If just linking to another directory, run skulltag once, then edit the .ini file to include that directory in the search path.
* Run Skulltag and configure your controls, etc.
* Run Doomseeker. Go to Options -> Configure. Then add zerker.myftp.org as a Custom server, with a port of 10666. Finally, go to File paths and make sure all the paths containing your custom levels are included.
After that, you should be good to go. Once I create the server, it will show up in the list and you can join accordingly. So let's kill some demons!

And -these- sort of threads would be the norm in the Multiplayer forums....I know, I know....Ducky still pimping his idea. I stand by it as I've seen it work quite well in other forums :)

Everything is downloaded, installed, and ready to go. Consider me there, 7PM EST.
I'd suggest trying out Knee Deep first. It seems to be the most action packed of the bunch, and best set up for co-op.

Actually, I'm gonna have to retract my previous statement. I just got a contract I'm starting tomorrow. Not a big problem in and of itself, but since I'm not able to begin working in the morning like I usually do, it'll end up cutting into my usual do-fun-stuff time. Instead, I have to come in after the construction workers leave at 5 PM, and work on site til the store closes at 11.
So if I somehow manage to begin and finish the job in 6 hours tomorrow, I'll be there. But since I'm thinking it'll take me til Friday to finish, it's pretty doubtful I'll be able to play any multiplayer games til the weekend.

No worries, Duckeh; I mentioned something similar in passing in my post. Though you should join us; it'd be fun!
And maybe the weekend would work better anyhow; then Chimpy Chompy could join in too. Please suggest workable times for you guys.
However, if I get enough interest in Thursday, I'll still run a game then :D

Zerker, do you have steam, or xfire? I have skype but I don't ever use it. If you have steam or xfire i'd rather talk to you there. Both have voice chat built in. I'm not good with the whole time differences thing, but I'm GMT -6. So since your GMT -5 I take it we're only off by an hour. (I know, embarrasing that I don't know this.) Thursday evening wouldn't work because I have plans. Thursday afternoon would work, as would any time on friday, saturday or sunday, usually.
Any of the choices for maps you gave are fine with me, although I'd love to play some old school doom 1 or 2 as well. :) Oh, and another option is to play some skulltag stuff, like CTF or Invasion mode. :cheeky:

I have Steam of course, I guess we could do voice chat that way. I was just trying to think of the easiest way to get us all in the same voice chat.
Also, if you are GMT -6, and I am GMT -5, then to convert my time to yours... you subtract an hour. 7 to 9 PM in GMT -5 is 6 to 8 PM in GMT -6.
So, I think I'll be canceling the Thursday idea and scheduling for Saturday evening (unless you guys prefer the afternoon, I'm happy with either).
