Just finished the demo. The camera bugged the hell out of me - does anyone know if there's a way to lower the angle a bit? I only seem to be able to zoom in and out.
It seems like they picked a pretty bad section of the game to make a demo. Unless the whole game is like that which would be :eww:

if you hold right-mouse you can move and tilt the camera. mouse-wheel changes zoom.
yeah, after completing all 3 char builds I must say that the combat is totally broken, meaning the automated team tactics don't work at all. one of the prefixes for the tank warrior is:
Surrounded by NO enemies: activate TAUNT.
which usually means the char activates TAUNT the moment enemies appear on the map, not when they are in range. Same goes for fireball or Mindblast.
So having the automated combat resolves fail completely is not something I wanna see in a demo.
Also: the tactics menue does not always respond to mouse clicks, after setting up a tactic you have to close and reopen the menue to regain control.....Serious patching must still be done.
The abilities trees are very sparse and the new attribute system sounds unnecessarily complicated. Fatigue for Armor seems to be gone (good thing).

I didn't really see a need for any sort of tactics in the demo beyond selecting everyone in the party (which is tedious, since there doesn't seem to be a 'select all' button - you have to shift-click one person at a time) and then right clicking on each bad guy until they're all dead.

Has there been any confirmation yet of whether or not we're getting mod tools?
From what I've read it's a no.

A tactic that could easily be applied to most of the first game as well, minus major bosses. Honestly, I have no expectations of any sort of quality for the combat in this game. Nor for level design, for that matter. I just hope it serves up a good, compelling story and that not all gear looks as stupefyingly horrid as the "platemail" they constantly show Hawke wearing in promos. Seriously, it's like a 7-year-old vomited triangles over a Final Fantasy protagonist.

I don't remember well, didn't Origins have a keyboard shortcut for selecting the entire party? Maybe something like that in there this time 'round too?

Wait, what? Not that much of value was produced for the first title, but... no boobies?

DA2 : CTRL+A => select entire party, you can even create groups (SHIFT+F1/2/3/4), a welcome improvement from DA:O, where the "entire party" key was .... THE SAME (or =)

I just got through the demo and it's a terrible mess. A person responsible for its design has either some serious mental issues or a severe case of ADD. Why bother with the character creation screen when we get the message that its options are unavailable in the demo? The same applies to the inventory, you get your first loot from a corpse and there's a message that the inventory function is unavailable in the demo. Why hold back, where is the message that the demo is unavailable in the demo? :joke:
But that's just a tip of the iceberg. At first you have a character with some set of abilities. After a long and tedious fight you get the rest of your family members to help you, but you loose almost all of your abilities :laff: And then, after some grinding, you level up and you can spend points to get them back! :laff: A few boring fights/NPCdeaths later you jump to a city and again, you get like 15 points to make your party more badass :cheeky:
Also, the graphics looks decent now, in comparison to DA. Although, as it was already mentioned, women design is ridiculous (except female Hawke maybe). All women have a D cup and you can tell an old lady from a young woman only by the gray hair. Another bad thing is the voice acting. 2 really important people die in the demo, we're talking about the family members. The lack of emotions in those cutscenes is almost ridiculous.
Actually, this demo made me think that people from Bioware might need some serious break. All I can see here are signs of intellectual and emotional regress :erg:

Because otherwise you'd get some twits who never read reviews thinking the full game doesnt have a character creation or loot collection and never buy it.

Ha, totally waiting for Wynne to come in here for damage control. Under the guise of a 'concerned long-time member' of course.;)

how about that: by choosing what class you wanna play you decide which of your siblings dies (warrior/rogue - carver, mage - bethany). I hope that has been done only for the demo, it does not give a good impression for possible choices in the full game or that you can have any impact on the story.
