I am having problems progressing through the market in hong kong, adn i waould greatly appreiciate help. I found the dragon sword, but Max Chen does not know i have it when i go see him. He just says some generic dialogue when i approach him. I got the sword by directly attacking the appartment. I also approached Max Chen before i went on the quest to get the sword. Ive tried everything i can think of...i talk to Max Chen...i talk to the guy guarding the copmound im trying to get into....i go back to chows appartment....i just cant get to the part where the mechs smash through the walls. I dont know if it matters, but i also went into the police station adn killed abunch of the officers to get the secret weapon stash. PLEASE HELP...im am going crazy trying to get to the next part of the game...
I installed the multiplayer/D3D patch
THANKS in advance,

Something probably got messed up in the Save files along the way. The easiest solution: Load an earlier saved game and try again.

OK, this is a long shot and almost certainly will not work:
Enable cheats, type in legend and click on "Edit game flags". Somewhere in there should be an entry that defines whether you have the DT or not. Sorry, I'm not at my home machine, so I don't know which flag that would be. You could try changing the flag there.
Note: Even if this does work, it's likely to mess up your savegame even worse. I accept no responsibility. If your computer blows up or your hamster dies or whatever, you've been warned. ;)
That said, Thune's suggestion is your best bet. I don't quite know what you mean by having "no good savegame". Replay repays. :)
A tip for the future: don't overwrite savegames. Save in a new slot and delete previous saves afterwards if you need to free up HD space. Overwriting games can lead to savegame corruption.
You also didn't mention which patch you applied. The current Windows version is 1.1.1.2 . The previous MP patch caused a lot of grief in SP.
