DREAMING Thief ... - by moria

... How cool is that?
I was playing level 3 of Thief 3 before I went to bed last night, then had a great dream, where I broke into and robbed a house. The owner had carelessly left his key in the front door, which made breaking in pretty easy. But the first time I tried it, I got "killed", because I hadn't noticed there was an open back door, which the returning owner used to get back in and surprise me (I'd closed and locked the front door behind me). I was able to reload in my dream, and then went around nicking stuff - and it made the same noise as it does in the game.
So who thinks I should get out more? :D

No,that's great!
I'm always hoping I'll have a thiefy dream like that. I've had a couple, but nothing that I actually remember. I just remember having them;)
Although I hope to God it doesn't involve Puppets....

Once I had a dream in which I played T3 long before I actually played it... unfortunately I don't remember much of it today.
I guess that I desired to play it so much that this desire has imprinted into my subconsciousness.
Freud would be proud of me.

I don't think I've ever DREAMED of Thief. I know I go through withdrawal when I haven't Thiefed in a few days, though.:tsktsk:

I had the flu & was having all sorts of weird dreams; including one with Garrett. I never did get to see his face, only heard his voice coming from somewhere inside a darkly colored, hooded cloak. I remember that his voice sounded so soothing I didn't want to wake.

Good Lord!
You shoud write a risky romance novel.
;)
True story:
I stopped playing thief a couple years ago. (didn't know about fm's or Dromed or anything) I got bored with the Om's Oh how I wished to make my own thief levels...I would sadly draw out maps at school. And practice my own conversations. It got to the point where I could quote the game, black jack noise to black-jack noise...so i stopped playing for awhile and eventually forgot about thief...
Then one night I had a dream. A scary one where I was Garrett in the game. Though the mission was unknown to me. It was a very creep undead mission and I was desperately trying to hide from huge fleshy beasts and giggling succubus like girls...I woke up sweating and shaking (it was that scary for me)
And I immediately thought of thief and got on my computer. Went to google and searched for "custom thief missions"
I was pleasantly surprised to find ttlg and so many fm sights...It was a very happy moment (about 4 am) for me. I went to school happy. I came home and downloaded my first ever fm. "A Debt Repaid" I loved it so much I greedily began downloading every single fm I could get my hands on. Then I began learning Dromed and blah blah blah. Here I am!

Risque? I hadn't even gotten to the good part! ;)
P.S. Even though your dream sounded awful, I'm glad you had it if the end result was that it brought you back into the fold! :cheeky:

I had a Thief-related dream once, but it was so long ago that I can't remember it. I've had nothing but nightmares for about five months now, so maybe one with Garrett in it will turn up soon.

Oh wow, lol I actually typed it out as risky. *dumb* typing at work right now so my mind is elsewhere. :)

I hear you RT. For some odd reason they really expect me to do something here other than visit TTLG all day. Go figure! :weird:
