Dromed 1.21 and Linux

Has anyone tried dromeding in Kubuntu 12.10 64 bit/Wine? It does not seem to respond to all the menu commands (ie nothing happens)- can't even portalize.

That problem sounds more like you're missing the .cmd files from the (http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=114292) Dromed Toolkit. The toolkit has a menus.cfg but the NewDark version is the one to use.

R Soul's suggestion should take care of your issue, but I want to note that I've had full success using NewDark (and most of the various community-made editing tools) via WINE on Ubuntu 12.10 and 13.04, to the extent of releasing an FM without touching Windows except for testing. Unless there is some issue with KDE, I think you should be fine. If you do run into any Linux-specific problems, I'd be glad to help.

R Soul's suggestion remedied the problem. It's been years since I last edited and I don't remember much, but I found out about this new patch and it sparked something. The game itself (steam version- because my cd broke back in the day) plays extremely well on my setup, except for a few visual hickups here and there- especially when scrolling through the inventory, but that might be a driver issue. Also, when entering game mode from the editor the camera is stuck and keypresses don't work until I switch tasks- mouse works though. I haven't tried adding a start point yet, which might be the cause, but I don't remember that happening all those years ago.
