DromEd 1.22 opening 1.21 cow - Custom object texture issue [solved] - by gamophyte

When I go to open my .cow I originally saved with 1.21 dromed, with the new dromed 1.22 it crash/closes right away. I quickly tabbed to MONO and screen-shotted before it crashed.

http://i.imgur.com/JKYef8n.pngI see that now it's my object textures. What's incredibly frustrating  is that 1.21 doesn't do this at all. They are not for terrain brushes, these textures are for my objects. Since when does it need to be in powers of two? I had to meticulously place these textures that are meant to be oblong(in the case of a long poll texture I wrapped around model).
Also why would it crash at all, it should just white wedge objects not close dromed. :nono:
I enabled some in-view dx9 for 3d view that made my 3d view go away on start mis. I disabled it, now, yet I thought I had it enabled and working fine in 1.21. Now I have a 3d view and I can open my cow without crash. I still get warnings. I would like to understaaand.
lol thanks for any help

Always. The warning is new. And it would have crashed for someone, nay everyone, just after you released the mission, causing you no end of difficulty diagnosing where you had screwed it up. Now you know in advance.

Indeed, it's always been that way, it's just that Dromed is better now at reporting it to you.

You're lucky they're object textures then, because you can just resize them down to the nearest power of two in each dimension (eg 256x512) and they'll still map correctly. The resolution seems sufficiently high that the non-square pixels probably won't be too obvious.

Yes it's fancy and a good thing that we can see more warnings. I had no idea, didn't read this anywhere. This is why I wish there were better tuts. The original 1.21 cow never loaded or ran in game mode with any issues that I could see. Thanks again guys, hope to have a tasty screenshot soon.
