ERROR: portalization failed, no WR was generated (try to locate and
tweak problematic location or brush)
I have to delete all last nights' work. Just an entrance and a staircase, but I get the above warning.
The only difference is that before this, it says;:
ERROR: Too many cells.
Have I reached the end? I'm not finished yet!
Once I delete last nights' work, monolog says I have 32585 cells.

The thing about dromed is that any brush on one side of your map has the potential to effect how terrain will be processed on another.

The limit is 32760 WR cells. You don't have to delete anything to save cells. Just "play" with the time value.
An example: set the surrounding air brush to 1
set the solid (house, whatever) inside the air brush to 2
set the air brush inside the solid to 3
optimize. You just saved 50-100 cells.
Or maybe you don't. Then load the old cow. You can do this for hours/days. Write down the number of WR cells shown in the monolog. In a big map like that, you can save about 3000-4000 WR cells with time time value.

Working for days for the result: "Or maybe you don't" doesn't sound encouraging.

One thing you can do, if you use a lot of air cylinders for arches, is to use solid wedges instead. The amount of terrain brushes will increase, but cells will decrease significantly if you replace enough of them. Generally air brushes are big cell eaters, so if you use multiple air brushes in rooms for trimming I'd recommend using a single air brush instead per room with trimming done with solid brushes. We had to do that for a few TBP missions and we ended up saving a lot of cells.

Sure. :) You'll see the result. You can save at least 1000 cells within 2 hours. It depends how fast your PC is and the light settings (quick lighting is better, no object cast).

When you have 7600 time stamps where do you start?
Unna Oertdottir on 20/3/2017 at 06:29
It doesn't matter since you have to check the brushes later, anyway. But you might start with the first big air brushes that you've set. Just try it.
An example. This is Mixed Messages. There are 14792 WR-cells
Inline Image:
https://i.imgsafe.org/f99bbbffda.jpgLook at the marked big air brush on the screen. It's time stamp is "4". I set it to "1" and optimized. I saved 17 WR Cells.
The next step is to set the air brushes under this brush to 2, 3, 4...This will save many cells.

This probably goes without saying, but you have to pay attention to what else is being altered when you change the time on some air brushes. If you're using an air brush to carve a solid brush and you set the air brush time lower than the solid, then you won't be carving the solid anymore.

These are basic air brushes. Nothing could go wrong in this case. But when all the basic stuff has been changed, it's time for the advanced brushes like cylinders, door frames, roofs, etc. There, the time has to be set accordingly.
Then it's very important to check the brushes again and again.
