First of all, take a loot at (
http://whoopdedo.org/projects.php?misc#WinDromed) this.
So, you see, with the (long since due) ability to associate MIS/GAM/COW/VBR/SAV files in Explorer, there is also the need to give them an interesting icon.
I have no idea what would make a decent Dromed icon. So I'm dodging responsibility by posting this thread. I thought about making it a contest, but I'm too cheap to offer any prizes. You'll just have to be content with the fame, notoriety, and praise that comes from having your icon associated with Dromed. (In other words, content with nothing.)
There needs to be icons for each of the file types:
MIS - mission
GAM - gamesys
COW - ... well, a cow
VBR - multibrush
SAV - saved game
And for each type, a distinct icon for which game its for, plus a generic don't-know-the-game. (I'm also working on a shell extension that will be able to show the correct icon, as well as display mission info with the file properties in Explorer.)
And, of course, the icons for Dromed and WinDromed itself. The current icon has been used in Darkloader for a couple years now, and it kinda ugly.
Note: Quant tells me that the way I tell Dromed to open the file (which is a trick he uses in his add-on thingy) has problems with certain keyboards layouts -- German in particular. So you might be a bit limited if you're not using the US keyboard. It should work with files that are in the same folder as Dromed, though.

On my desktop I use the yellow and black ICON from Thief3 to launch Dromed.
I chose it because I've played it several times and am not using anything with T3 at this time. Regards,

why not have a Dromedary camel, since that's where the name of the program came from (didn't it?)

I used to use the Trixster glyph from T1. It seemed quite appropriate considering the nature of the program.

The best logo I've ever seen was logo from DromEd Central: camel's head in the gear.
BTW, where to know HOW to connect MIS extension with DromEd??? I tried one trick and it didn't work.

Not counting the program that Telliamed is working on here, Vigil has a solution up at his site.

Ages ago I made my own icons:
Inline Image:
http://img157.imageshack.us/img157/9273/iconsmx1.gifI didn't do an icon for .cow because I don't use that format (I tend to bugger it up and lose my gamesys).
The mis file icon is on of the ones in Windows XP, and I also use that for my Dromed shortcut.
