Are there any special settings that need to be added to some cfg file for multi-core processing?
I built a machine around a 5-gigaherz 8-core AMD CPU on a Crosshair Formula Z mainboard with max RAM. But under the Task manager, Dromed seems to only recognize 4 processors (8 showing).
The light calculations are still puttering along, just like on my old machine. Should I double my prescription pain med dose, or should I just deal with it?

OldDark only used 1 core as I recall, no matter how many you had, and NewDarl processing is many times faster than it used to be for me. That being said, I don't know if you can have it use all your processors.

You can assign all the cores to DromEd in the taskmanager. But that won't do anything, though. DromEd uses a single core. I recently pimped a AMD-machine to 4.4 GHZ. It didn't calculate significally faster than a 3.9 GHz-machine. So I sold it. You have a 5GHz radiator, but not a fast PC for DromEd.
BTW, how long does it take to compute full processing in Beltzers "The Flavour"?

If you're doing a full relight often enough for it to be a pain, you're Doing It Wrong. Area brushes and the simpler lighting modes are your friends.

I agree, I rarely light or pathfind the whole mission. I work with me-only'd areas 90% of the time.

Which is what I do. But once a-week, I like to do the whole thing just to get a sense of balance.
BTW, I found that the dumb machine goes to sleep, which halts Dromed from processing. So I changed the power settings to Never Sleep. What was that old Beatles tune? I Should Have Known Better.

The other AMD machine did it in 10:15.
A new Xeon Workstation E3-1230v3/16GB RAM/ Win7 64bit-->7:25min and 6:55min after a some bios-tweak

I'm going to assume that was tested under New Dark...;)

Of course. I can't test a NewDark mission (The Favour) in OldDark.
