It's a Unix format text file. Notepad will probably destroy all the newlines if you save.

:) I've got half a dozen copies in various places, none of which can be edited at all and now all have user.bnd with the notepad logo thing. As long as I don't try and save then they're fine.
I'd appreciate that - I don't think it will matter about your keybindings. It's an entirely separate install from my 'playing' T2 folder. And sometime perhaps I'll be able to figure out why notepad ++ isn't working. But in the meantime, it would be great, thank you.
[Edit] Actually, doing a new copy from Larry's post rather than trying to edit an existing one has worked. It saved properly and has worked with Dromed. Thank you very much both of you for your help. It's very strange though that I can also edit this new copy but still none of the old ones.

Hmm. I've edited mine with notepad, no problem ... Maybe I copied lines instead of hitting enter ... no, I was wrong. I must have edited it with something else. Editing it with Notepad does destroy the CR/LF. Did I hex edit it? I can't recall.

I also loaded this toolkit now. It hat one problem for me, either it is so big that I don't see the menu bar at the top anymore or it is gone and somewhere else. Where is it? I can't open this dromed in a small window to look for the menu bar.

hmmm... Troubleshooting tells me to open "User.bnd" and add that line to it, if Alt-e doesn't work, well, it doesn't so I looked for User.bnd, but I only found User.CFG and added that line to there, didn't seem to work.. What's wrong?
aa..well never mind, I can just press Shift-; and write "edit_mode"

Where were you looking for user.bnd? In your the thief\ folder?
The user.bnd probably doesn't exist because you haven't ever modified your controls?
You could make your own bnd file, just open notepad type in what you need and then save as user (rename the file with extension .bnd)

aaa.. ok I try that :)
