It is a version of DromEd in a way because it has Telliamed's patches pre-applied.

I stand corrected. :D

Is there any chance of creating an improved editor (a better version of Dromed itself), or is that something you need the ever elusive source code in order to do?
I honestly have no idea how that all works.
At this moment, I want to slowly kill Dromed--taking substantial glee in watching it suffer under my ever tightening grip around its throat.

Are you referring to the fact that the startup script automatically turns on light_bright and lit_obj_toggle?
You can toggle those with ctrl+shift+o and ctrl+o, respectively.
Is there a way to configure the light toggle to be turned off as the default? I am at the stage of testing when I do not use light_bright or lit_obj_toggle and I'd prefer to have them off on startup to save time.
The only way I've found so far involves editing DromEd.cfg to not run the startup script, but I'm not sure what other functions I might be messing up by not activating the script.
.................
Also, has anyone experienced crashes in-game when trying to change the keybinding through the in-game menu?
After installing the toolbox, I found that I couldn't enter that menu without crashing Thief while playing game-mode or through DarkLoader. When I restored the menu.cfg file to the backup copy saved before installing, the crashes stopped. I'm not sure what could be causing it or how to fix it, aside from using an different set of menus. Which is a shame, because they are very nice and more comprehensive than my previous menus.

Just edit the appropriate lines out of StartUp.cmd

Heh. It sounds so simple when you say it like that. :)
For some reason, I thought it would take a special program or something to edit the script, but a few seconds in notepad did the trick. I replaced the light commands with persistent_player_pos and ai_aware_of_player. That should save me precious keystrokes each time I start up DromEd.
Thanks NV! :thumb:

It could also make you think your AI are broken

That is unlike to be a problem for me since I already use ai_aware_of_player immediately after loading my mission whenever I work in DromEd. If I need to test AI reactions to the player, I can always toggle it back before entering game mode.
I've always wondered if there was a way to automate it so I would not need to worry about forgetting to use those commands. I'm very happy about this. :cheeky:

I was very happy when I figured this stuff out a few years back. I was so conditioned to doing persistent_player_pos when I started Dromed that for a while I kept doing it and turning it back off.
One other thing to remember that anything triggered by AIWatchObj watching for PlayerEntry will not work with ai_aware_of_player off.

I've followed the instructions and unzipped to the root directory, but everytime I launch dromed.exe all I get is:
Assertion Failed
Cannot Find GUI Font (File: uigame.cpp, Line: 60)
(Yes to trap, No to exit, Cancel to ignore)
How do I solve this?
