Brushes don't snap to the grid if the 'use' button isn't purple.

Only last night I figured out that after highlighting the brushes there's an option right there in the menu to hide all the non-highlighted brushes. I can't tell the numbers of hours I've spent going through my missions searching for blue highlighted brushes hidden among thousands of non-highlighted ones. :eww:

I do have another question. Is there a way to fade or brighten brushes depending on the camera position? I have a lot of overlapping in the vertical plane which is going to make things difficult for re-doing my room brushes.

Many thanks. I found (
http://southquarter.com/dromed/?p=125) this page which I think explains the gist of area brushes. I'll have to play around with them until I get things under control. I was about ready to just start over because of the mess I made; thanks, everyone, for all your help :D

That pretty much covers most of what there is to know about them, the rest you need to figure out with a little experimentation. :D
I didn't learn to use area brushes until after I had made The Burrick's Head Inn, which is a 6-story building. Imagine my relief!
