Dromed2: Making doors as windows that are transparent when closed - by sNeaksieGarrett

So, I did a little search on this and can't really find anything that helps.
I have windows set up in LOTP that can be see-through, however it only works once the player has opened the window. Once the window has been opened you can see through it and it looks great.
When the window is closed, it is solid. So my question is, is it at all possible to make transparency work with a window that's closed? I'm using secret doors with a window texture on them and put transparency (alpha) 0.85 on them. I did find a thread about transparency issues, but this was related to Thief Gold and D1.

properties -> door -> rotation
uncheck "blocks vision" and portalize

Exactly, that's the portal (black rectangle) you're seeing when it's closed. Normally you don't see it since the door isn't partially transparent.

Aha! I actually even tried unchecking blocks vision before and it didn't help. Didn't know I needed to re-portalize. That fixed it, thanks giga!:thumb:
Yandros, I didn't see the black rectangle unless I moved the door out of the windowframe. Of course, having blocked vision unchecked makes sense, since you'd want AI to be able to see through windows anyway.

The black rectangle was there when you moved it because you hadn't yet reportalized (which places a new portal in the new location, unless you uncheck Blocks vision). But it was no doubt what was making the window opaque.
