I just have finished to watch'em for the first time.
All of Tom Baker episodes.
Since 1979-1980 when RAI broad casted just 7 full chapters.
So is new to me.

For my money Tom Baker is the only Doctor Who.

I love Tom Baker, but David Tennant is pretty darn good too.

I'm in the 'Tom Baker = Best Dr. Who Ever' camp!
Glad to know the man is still alive & kickin' & doing what he does best.
P.S. Martin: I see the similarity & agree.

I can now never see Tom Baker as Dr Who any more. Not after "Poor people in Britain - or vermin, as they are known..." and other such comedy goodness. Americans probably won't know what I'm on about...

Personally I am quite happy with Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant as Who - if only because I never saw the old ones. Heh! Not sure I'd want to now. The bits I've seen they sort of look. . .well, tacky. I love the new ones though. But, seriously, I see absolutely no resemblence to Thief in any of the new stuff. The robotic creatures were robots, sure, but they have not resembled Karras' bots at all. Although, i suppose the cybermen vs the Servants there was a (slight) resemblance there in the way they are real people then. . .altered. But its vague.
And somehow, I just cannot see Garrett with the Doctor's. . .attitude. :) Although, you have to wonder if Constantine would have dared to take advantage of Garrett quite so much if he'd had a little more Whoish spunk.

I whole heartedly agree that Tom Baker is the bestest Dr Who. Followed by David Tennant.
IMHO Eccleston was the worst. His personality was as bland as his outfit. For farks sake, a leather jacket and jeans is not the standard eccentric wardrobe that Dr Who wears. Not to mention the fact that he wasted a regeneration by only sticking around for one season in a feeble attempt to jump start his acting career.
Tis a pity that they didn't decide to revive the series in 2000 as I believe that Paul McGann did a reasonable job in that one off telemovie.

Americans don't even know what "on about" means. :cheeky: I liked Tom Baker the best, but so do 80% of people who saw the original series.
I had to leave the US right after the Season 1 finale aired and the show isn't available where I am now. It's encouraging to know that some of you like the new guy, it gives me something to look forward to when I return to the US.
