I knew it! :laff:
That sort of conversation features in Uncharted 2 as well, and on multiple occasions. And usually had the bonus of being (well, not in Sully's case) exactly the sort of quip I wanted to make at the time myself. :D

Jennifer Hale voice acting >>>> Mark Meer voice acting

I actually thought he did a better job. She was better as Bastilla then Shephard, IMO.

The answer to this question is YES. I usually avoid playing a game before reading some things about the plot in wiki....
Okay. Personally I hate spoilers, so that sounds really weird to me, but that's fine :)

Sorry, but this sounds a bit EMO. You don't like yourself then you look for an alternative universe where you can be whoever you want?
Who said anything about not liking themselves?
To my mind it just sounds a bit boring, given the opportunity to create a character from any number of possible combinations of traits and abilities, to choose to be yourself. (Strictly speaking, does that even qualify as role-playing?)

As long as it has swords, it's roleplaying.
Oh, and tits

It's a difference thing.
If male and female are on offer: female
If humans, elves, dwarves are on offer: elves (coz fuck you, dwarves), though if lizard people or giant bullmonsters are available, they're also good.
The less my character looks like me, the more I am able to invest in them as an independent character within the fiction.
If I chose a character that was literally 'me with swords', I would be wondering why the hell I am fighting people with swords, and not simply hiding and hitting people with chairs several months after they've forgotten about me. Preferably while they're asleep.
(Plus maybe I just like women who kick ass.)

I often pick females, mainly because the choice of male archetypes usually grates. It doesn't apply to all RPGs but most of the men can look like humourless wankers.
This is why my commander Shepherd is female. For some reason i just can't stand the male character, It doesn't work the same way all the time. My fallout character is always male, I just don't see how I could do the things in that game that I do if my character were a female. but Shepherd is a boring oafish jock when i play Mass Effect as a male. I find myself much more drawn to the story of a female lead in this case.

The character indeed represents you, do you forget this?
If that is the case, then we don't need to replay any roleplaying game, ever, period. Since the character is always you, you'd always answer the same situation in the same manner, never try different storyline paths etc.
I think you completely misunderstand what
roleplaying means. It means playing a role other than yourself, for starters.

I just like feeling pretty sometimes, that's all.
