Back in January i started on a project called "Daikatana Remake",
which was a nextgen remake of Daikatana.
Apparently the original Daikatana was not popular at all, and i was forced
to focus on other things. So i went on another project. "SiN: Reloaded".
A similar project, based on the first "SiN" game. One of my favorite
games beside Duke3D. That project got shut down by MumboJumbo
who owns the rights.
When Gearbox got the Duke ip, my interest was resparked, in the project
i wanted to work on the most. A next generation remake of Duke Nukem 3D.
A Duke Nukem 3D, as if the game was made today, on modern technology.
Remakes are a lot of work and require a massive attention span, especially for what seems like one guy. Or has he got a team? Wonder if he'll finish this before switching to another remake. "My REALLY REALLY favourite game is Blood" etc.
Still, damn nice modelling/texturing work
edit: just looked again, seems like he'll focus on getting a team if he gets the go-ahead from 3D Realms

You've got a point, but based on what he said (and if he really did talk to Scott Miller) I'd say it's got more a chance than his other remake projects. Plus, I read in there that he would try to get a team if it really took off, or something like that.
Edit: Ah, I see what you did there.

What the hell would be the point of that? Gearbox completely owns and controls the Duke IP now.

He's talking to Scott Miller and George Broussard. Or was. maybe he's talking to gearbox now. I dunno, I didn't fancy reading all 35 pages of that thread to find out

Why the hell would anyone remake Daikatana?

I would have loved to see a SiN remake. That is one of my favorite single-player FPS games of all time. I had no idea about any of his projects. Since MumboJumbo won't let him do it though, I'll buy any games from them used in the future to specifically avoid supporting them.
On the subject of Duke, if they get to remake Duke3D, what approach will they take? Would they remake all of the levels exactly as they were? This seems kind-of pointless to me. There was such little geometric detail in the original levels... If you're going to go that route, just help improve Eduke32 and the HRP/Polymer instead. Like I've said in the past, the Polymer renderer is impressive, but the lighting isn't used as well as it could be. Think of Episode 2. All of those rotating lights should be replaced with real-time per-pixel spinning lights instead of sector tricks.
If they completely redesign it, maybe it would look like the Doom 3 classic mod. Those episode 1 maps were remade in a beautiful manor.

They were planning on making more SiN episodes I don't know what happened with that

They weren't profitable is what happened.

Because the first one sucked.
