Daikatana is one of those games I hope to get to some time in my lifetime... perhaps by the age of 40. I love Quake 2 engine games! Sin, Kingpin, SoF, DNF (oops) you name it! I bet Daikatana is better than most of the games coming out these days.
As for DNF, Here is IGN's review. I gotta say I like this one much more than the others. It seems like a lot of reviewers were whining about "offensive" content and not covering the actual game enough. The IGN person does no such thing and thus I don't feel as though I'm being preached to whilst watching it.

I watched ten or twenty minutes of a Youtube playthrough once, and it was pretty bad, but more of a hyped-up game falling on its face than Literally The Worst Game Ever.
The game I'd like to try is SiN (it has been recommended to me on this forum IIRC), and it's up on Steam, but I don't know how well it would work on Win7.

I tried playing my original boxed copy of SiN the other day, under Vista x64 and it would only work with the software renderer. I don't expect a Win7 attempt to be all that different, TBH.

I never played because everyone complained that the stupid sidekick AI made the game constantly frustrating. I'd rather replay SiN or Unreal.

Well you have to actually noclip to get through one level. For a professional $50 game, that's pretty fucking bad.

You have to no-clip to get through half life too.

??? I must have missed that part.
inselaffe on 18/6/2011 at 21:56
You go through a narrow pipe and there's a loading zone and then you end up getting stuck half inside the pipe and have to noclip to progress.

I'll have to play it again - I definitely don't remember encountering that problem. Did you have that issue with the original version or with the Source version?

It isn't. I'll take your money off you, though.
