Wow. I just got through the shrunken Duke segment.
Heh, which?
In other news it seems I won a DNF giveaway of some sort. No idea what's in it.

Twelve 3D Realms developers and a mouse mat?

For those who are interested but haven't purchased yet, the price dropped to $34.95 on Amazon for the PC version of DNF. That is still much too high for my expectations though.

It was just on sale on Steam for $25 or something wasn't it.

Just got a box in the mail, containing
-a First Access Club mousepad
-a shot glass with the Duke logo
-a glossy photo of Duke signed 'to my biggest fan'
Nothing really amazing, but it was free, so I'm not complaining.

Yes, it was half-price in the big Steam sale.

The price continues to be slashed. It is now $25 for a boxed copy on sites like Amazon. I wonder how well it is selling? On one hand, you have this legend that was "never supposed to actually surface" and even the youngsters made jokes about it not coming out. It isn't like there wasn't any marketing for the product. On the other hand, it has received mixed reviews.

No it hasn't.

It was also $25 a month ago on Steam, and there's pretty much no reason why anyone who wanted it cheap didn't buy it then.

Unlike Lost_soul's assburger-ish ranting, here's a legitimate reason to bump this thread:-
(
http://store.steampowered.com/news/5978/) Gearbox just released a patch that:-
* Ups the weapon carry limit in the SP campaign from two to four (as an OPTION).
* Fixed the broken blood decals which didn't show when enemies were wounded.
* Fixed the higher quality bumpmaps, which weren't showing.
* Added native FoV adjustment.
* Added an actual anti-cheat solution for the MP.
* Overhauled dedicated server support.
* Added push-to-talk.
* Fixed the core affinity issues which were occurring for those with Dual-core CPUs, that lengthened loading times by several seconds and provided jerky framerate spikes.
It's great to see that they haven't abandoned support for the game in-the-face of all the negative game press and have committed to addressing issues raised by their fanbase. Gearbox are now near the top of my PC community friendly developer list, alongside Eidos Montreal + Nixxes, whom seem to actually care.
My fingers crossed that we'll get a SDK one of these days as well.
