It's not that I hate Portal.
I just don't think it's the video game equivalent of the Second Coming of Christ.

What really got my goat about the recent builds of DNF is that you can only carry two guns at once (trip mines and pipebombs have their own slots akin to most post-Halo FPSes). Realism shouldn't be a factor in a f*cking Duke FPS, you should be able to haul around your entire arsenal at all times.

I chase mutated pig-men around on a daily basis, so it's important to me that it feels like it could be just another day in the office gone bad - and the two guns thing helps with this.

Oh NO! Oh dear lord, PLEASE NO! Will the player really be limited to two weapons at a time? What in the world are these people thinking? If I wanted to play Halo, I would play Halo. How about we get rechargeable shields too?

Regen health is in too. It appeared that it regenerates automatically in the build that Gearbox was showing at PAX. I believe in some of the more recent 3DR builds of DNF health could be regained by filling an Ego meter. You gained "Ego" by killing shit. This Ego system makes sense in terms of fiction, since Duke is supposed to be a bad arse 1980's style action hero who can take a lot of punishment. The Painkiller spiritual successor, Necrovision, used a similar sort system in addition to health packs (you could only 100% refill health with medkits). It would certainly be a good compromise rather than having all out health regen.
I could take or leave health regen, TBH. Both health systems are about as unbalanced difficulty wise as one another, so it doesn't really bother me.
Hybrids of the two systems like we've seen in Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay, Resistance: Fall of Man and Medal of Honour: Airborne are probably the most balanced middle ground.

Well I look forward to walking into a dark room in the game and having my night-vision automatically turned on (and off when I leave). I also look forward to a medikit that "uses" itself when my health goes below, say, 50. I wonder if they will at least not tamper with the security cameras, tripbombs, and pipe bombs?
I still remember filling a room in Duke3d with pipebombs and putting a tripbomb so they would all go off when my opponent opened the door. :)
