And by "developers" you mean the 5 people who manage the whole project and, most likely, have little to do of actual development?
If it can be ascribed entirely to them, then yes.

"Unlikely. It's in great hands now, and I look forward to several
decades worth of Duke console games released in a timely way."
ByeBye Duke. Its been fun! You will be missed. Most (all?) of the Duke console games that were released weren't nearly as good as Duke3d was. Again, people should stick with what made them successful in the first place: PC games that can have user-made content to enhance them. It is sad to see all of my favorite game franchises sell out to console land, (Unreal, Duke, Thief, DX). Oh well!
The only positive in this whole thing is that we may see a new Shadow Warrior or Rise of the Triad (for the PC)! That would be epic!

Cry more.

Or don't. I'm getting pretty irritated about all the whining about franchises moving to the consoles. It's happening, it's inevitable, and it's not going to stop now, so either suck it up and take it or just god damn leave it.
Honestly, it's like some people can't accept reality or something.

Funny. I thought lost_soul's post was exactly about pretty much what you said.
Why are you really angry Sulphur? Let us in

That's because you live in reverse land, Koki, where your ass is where your head should be.

I took your advice: I "left it" a long time ago. I can't remember the last time I looked forward to, and rushed out and purchased any mainstream game on release. I guess that was Doom 3. Matter of fact, I don't regret that one bit. Thanks to the modding community, we have TDM and other goodies like Last Man Standing. There was also the awesome remake of Doom episode 1.
It isn't always the original game that gets us to purchase, it is what others can then do with that game. Take Quake 3 for example, it gets dull after a wile. Mods that were originally based on it are more fun than Q3 now. Urban Terror is a blast to play!
What I'm saying is: By going to a console, you are giving us less incentives to buy your game now, because it is a disposable product. We can't even count on being able to play the game online in 5 years, because the console vendors only keep the servers up until the next-gen systems arrive.
While I felt bad for the guys who lost the ability to play Halo 2 online last year, I had to point, laugh, and say "I told you so.". I can at any time load up Halo 1 for the PC and enjoy some CTF mayhem

They could always buy Halo 2 for PC and continue playing there. If they are that concerned about playing it. Or move on, and play something else that has a decent community.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it's about time everyone know the truth: Duke 3D is a horrible game, it was *never* any good, and the only reason you ever liked it was because you were 12, and it had tits. There is nothing anyone can do to "ruin" Duke, *especially* not putting it on consoles, because the average "dumb" console game is still smarter than Duke ever was.

What's this? Aja trolling? Gee, THAT never happens.
