Somehow, somewhere, BRnumbers is soiling himself.

Hmmm? I don't get the reference. Did he not like Duke 3D and/or had hoped that DNF would never come out or something? I can recall him shitting upon Sonic for not being grim dark, but that's about it.

Well then, he pretty sure must have soiled himself when Shadow the Hedgehog came out.

TTLG needs a Grimoire thread, if only for the schadenfreude.
Or did that joke expire a good five years ago?

BRnumbers is a brandy-sipping smoking-jacket douchebag who thinks you should only ever play cerebral games, because anything else is kiddie stuff.
Also, I propose when the game actually does come out we change the thread title to Duke Nukem Finally.

I still remember filling a room with pipebombs in a Dukematch in Duke3d and then attaching a laser trip mine across from the door to that room. A few moments later, I heard a big BOOM and one of the other players shreeked. hahaha
Hopefully the multiplayer in DNF is strategic like this, and not "OMG I g05$ t3h m0st headshots!!11one. If they have CTF though, a grappling hook would be nice.

I wouldn't hold my breath for the MP component, TBH. When Gearbox got their hands on the game, 3DR hadn't even started work on it. The MP is being built by Piranha Games.

Well, back in the days of DN3d game devs didn't spend much time on MP either. Your choices of maps were usually just the single-player ones, besides user-made maps. I think quake was the first to have MP-exclusive maps. Some of those single-player levels in FPS games were so much fun in MP though, like level 7 in Doom 2.
As long as DNF has network code and an editor, it will have multiplayer... and as long as there is any kind of fanbase, it should be good multiplayer.

For those who don't know, Duke Nuke'em Forever was rescued by both Gearbox, and (
http://www.triptychgames.com/) Triptych Games. Triptych has someone involved that should be familiar to many here...former 3D Realms and Ion Storm (T3) developer..."Raen"...or as he used to be known here "Sledge". He was part of the team of former 3D Realms developers who worked on the Duke in their spare time after 3D Realms went bust. Had they not taken that initiative, there most likely wouldn't have been a game to release. Duke would have died. I seriously doubt there will be any delays.
