Are you implying that because I use Linux, I'm not using a PC? There's still an X86 processor, an NVidia GPU, and tuns of games here. There may also be a Windows VM or two around... and a program called Wine.

Forget the proofreader, I think you need someone else to read and post for you entirely. :erg:

I'll take pity on lost_soul and translate
"As a PC gamer, there is absolutely no way any large company would release a PC-exclusive game these days."
=
"there is absolutely no way any large company would release a PC-exclusive game these days as a PC gamer."
=
"no way any company would release pc-excluse as (I am) a PC gamer"
ergo you are implying it's your fault

Either way is acceptable. I was stating that I play PC games and I understand why the PC isn't a top priority for big-budget game developers any more. It is just like me saying:
As a Linux user, I understand why the majority of people will not use it on their desktops.
... or ...
I understand why the majority of people don't use Linux on the desktop, being a Linux user myself.

It was clear to me.

It was just meant to be a friendly dig and I had guessed that's what you meant. I just found it amusing that you were effectively stating that the fact that you played PC games controlled the actions of third party game developers. Saying that you understand the situation is obviously a lot more under your control :).
Back on topic, I am (tentatively) looking forward to this game. If it turns out to be good, it will be nice if it can be modded with higher resolution textures by fans - but it won't make a difference to me personally whether it has "console quality" textures.

As a chicken taco, I support this whole heartedly.
-or-
I don't. I'm confused.

You keep nasty comm chat taco fallout outta here.
My prediction for DNF: We only see some decent high res textures mods after the first hundred or so alternative stripper skin mods.
But totally agree with Al_B here, it's not going to bother me whether it ships with "console" textures or not.
lost_soul on 28/1/2011 at 23:56
Seriously though, why can't they just produce high-resolution textures and then scale them down for the console? Heck, we Dark Mod players can do this exact thing if we have crappy hardware.
