Good. I am glad the fucking 'dev mafia' learned a lesson. Fuck DNF.

if DNF does get passed on to another developer, I hope it will be one who doesn't have a fetish with infecting gamers' PCs with DRM malware. Rockstar would have been a good choice, but after GTA4 for the PC, they're off my list... as is Ubisoft and EA...
I would like to see Raven finish the game. Id software would be another good choice. So many people disliked Doom 3, but I really enjoyed it.

The saddest thing about this is that all their coders and level designers won't be able to get anything above an entry level position anywhere else in the industry.

Isn't exactly going to look too hot on their resumes. Short of Broussard starting up a new company (and who the fuck's going to give him any start up capital at this point?) and re-hiring all of them, they're pretty much fucked

haha good one! If I were an ex-employee, I would probably change my name before seeking out another game dev job to avoid being linked to Duke Nukem Forever.
I wish they would release the bits that used the Quake 2 engine to the public. Since the Q2 engine is free software, it should be easy.

The saddest thing about this is that the DNF affair will also be the final nail in the design studio independence coffin.

I would think that the publisher is the one who makes those decisions, not the developer.

On a brighter note, I registered on gog.com, put the Duke 3d Atomic Edition in my shopping cart, paid by PayPal and downloaded the game. Time spent? About six minutes. Mind: blown. What a cool service. :thumb:

Nice one. Have they updated it enough that it plays on XP with no problems?
